I don’t get any pleasure in the club wasting its limited resources on a player with Gaskell’s recent injury record. It was a gamble and currently it is not working. Why did WP inform PT he was fit to return when clearly he is not. We banked on his signing because as per Vastman’s judgment he is a superior player who can fill several positions sadly this is just a seat in the stand at the moment.
We have a record of wasting money on signings like Brough for example who we also gave a two year contract from Huddersfield despite his injuries and how did that go.
I am sorry if you don’t like the truth but 60 minutes play is not a great return. I agree injuries are part of the game but recovery times are very much based on the individual own body.

It’s been the case as long as I have supported Trinity since 1975 first game Widnes CC semi final
I said at the time if Gaskell plays 10 games I will eat my hat Tom Lineham is another that was not required and is not paying off.

How was Lineham not required? We didn't have enough players who could play wing. By all means choose another player but we needed someone.

So back to the thread.

I think this is a test of the coaches as much as anything.
The two sides will be similar to last week so we'll see if Powell has tactics to beat what he saw and whether Willie can get the team to step up even higher.
Clearly we are still underdogs but I quite fancy a win.

Astonishing logic ain't it. We entered the end of last season with one crocked winger in Kershaw, a rookie in Murphy and TJ who brilliant though he is has a history that makes Gaskill look like iron man. Kay was transitioning but it's clear where his future lays.

Out of all the signings made Lineman was the most obvious and sensible.

My only shock with Linehams was how camp he seemed on TV, I mean camp in a nice way, that earring and that coat, oh dear. :D

He reminded me of camp Freddie from the Italian job rather than Danny Larue, just to clarify

I hope that’s not the case. Fifita is the one player we can’t afford to lose from our pack. Fingers crossed but if he’s injured it gives someone else a chance.

If true good work from the Coaches let him rest for 2 week and he is back fit, instead of let him play and make it a long term injury like some. As said big lose ,but we have played without him before ,because of long them injury

I didn't realise Clarke and Charnley are back.
That makes them quite clear favourites for me.
We need to work out a plan to contain Clarke. But I think we can do it.
