Step one would be expensive, as I'm assuming it would be action against the council for not fulfilling their duties in enforcing the unilateral undertaking.

Let's say we win that battle.

Don't Yorkcourt then turn round and say, sorry guys, no money?

At best, it's a threat to force Yorkcourt to stump up cash they haven't got. What it won't do is buy Belle Vue, especially if the Super Bowl site has gone.

I can bet the planning application for whatever goes there will whizz through the town hall like Nigel Wood at a buffet.

Have to say other than wanting 'revenge' for want of a better word i don't see how legal action, which will likely drag out an awfully long time, will help matters for us at all. We will just be stuck in limbo even longer awaiting a result that won't make much difference to the club gaining a new home either way. Neither Yorkcourt or the council have either the funds or desire to build Newmarket, that much is obvious and as the post above by sixtogo says there are no guarantees of a win anyway. We've been led up the garden path by all those with influence, kept in the dark about what's been happening and now it turns out we are many miles up one if those creeks in an old leaking boat and we've long since lost the paddle. It's all very depressing.

Somebody posted on Twitter that wdmc have boosted that they have oldest rugby league clubs in the super league , mc says not for much longer

It wasn't WMDC that said that, it was a tv programme that had been posted on there.

As one of the inside battlers SC I fully appreciate your efforts and that of others. Posters on here are venting their anger and frustration that's all. It must be incredibly hard for such as yourself to have restraint - but with respect, you do have some inside knowledge. the posters on here are fed only tit bits and rumour which builds up more frustration and again with respect we are constantly told a statement will be forthcoming.
I'm sure you fully intend to put something out in the near future but I very much fear it will not be what the supporters want to hear.
A sincere thanks for your endeavour though!

I can understand posters venting their frustration and anger and taking it out on us because there is no one else they hsve access to. All I'm going to say on this matter is that we are not giving up on this and will continue to fight for a Community Stadium even though some on here think all is lost but that is their perogative. We will put something out when we have something concrete to say.

All I'm focusing on at the moment is the Hull FC v Hull KR game tomorrow and our game in Perpignan on Saturday and hopefully us cementing our place in Super League nexty season.

Re: Moving From Belle Vue.. : Wed Jul 13, 2016 3:54 pm
Six months ago I thought that it looked like the whole saga was going to end up in court and I posted that I would be behind MC if we did that. Now I having read some of the posters on here,I think we might well be wasting our time.
If it turns out to be a six figure sum to get which ever toe rag it is into court ( with the chance we might lose) then I would rather us spend our money on Wakefield trinity.
The people of Wakefield have been badly let down by the council regarding its attitude towards Newmarket from start to finish, and the sad thing is we will still need to have them on side should we decide to obtain land elsewhere in the future.should that arise.
I too would rather we stop at belle view... But the bottom line is that it looks like we have been painted into a corner with the only option a move away from belle view.
However this season has not been the disaster that was last year.the improvement on the pitch are there for all to see,and we are financially a more stable club. I think we should focus on the things we are getting right rather than the things we have got wrong.

Certainly it can't be in the plural. Castleford are from 1926 and Fev from 1902. It's us alone. Not for long.

One of the hairy bikers doing a documentary on BBC2 about the renovations to Wakefield Cathedral, just a bit of background imfo amongst other bits regarding the merry city.
