No we were promised at brand new stadium What a joke of a deal mackiie is laughing again

The time for moaning about that has well passed years ago I’m afraid. Yes a new stadium would have been nice but it would have been a community stadium with strings attached and likely limited earning potential.

I’d prefer to think positive. We own our stadium and surrounding land and essentially have a 10million + injection to see phase 1 completed and bring us modern facilities.

No point crying over spilt milk from years ago. It’s a positive development and should have us heading in the right direction off the field.

It will still be a community stadium, and managed as a business, Trinity will have priority and first call, but there will be a number of community groups and sports using the stadium and it’s facilities. The community groups will pay for using the facilities and the WMDC/ Trinity have to run the community side at a profit. There’s extensive documents re community use, I’ll try to find them if you want to see them.

If it comes off it can only

be a positive for wakefield trinity. I’m not convinced it will due to the nature of the people they are unfortunately dealing with. They have shown before they have no interest in anything to do with taking the club forward. I honestly don’t think Michael carter and John minnards could have done any more than they have to get this deal .done . Still hoping for positive news but not convinced we will hear it

Interesting that WMDC would have responsibility alongside trinity for running the community side and community groups side. I highly doubt they will do this for free and I suspect they will be taking a share of any profits made through the community/rental of the facilities?

May not be as lucrative as I thought and trinity may not actually have full control over the facilities which is strange considering we own the stadium and it’s land. If you have a link it would be an interesting read.

If say a local business wanted to rent out the function room for a day would the profits from this be split in some way between trinity and WMDC? If so I pull hope that WMDC would also pay towards the costs for the same along with the club.

It may not in reality be so much of a money generator then for the club.

I’m not sure how much control the Council has in this matter. I have found some relevant documents on the link below. Click onto the document icon at the end of row,
22 Nov 2021 Community use Agreement
22 Nov 2021 Statement of Community Involvement.

That’s great thanks. Only read the community use agreement.

Reads that the club will be responsible for organising staff and paying all bills etc for any community use (if I read it right).

Also that the facilities are bookeable between 8am -
10pm. The facilities will also be run in line with affordable council pricing similar to their facilities in the area.
This may reduce any potential earning the club could achieve.

Seems like there may be some considerable cost implications in manning and managing these facilities aimed at the clubs feet.

It's £2m they wouldn't have got were it not for the councils involvement.

It’s fine so long as it doesn’t run at a loss I guess. I was anticipating trinity could rent out the facility for events such as weddings/ private company events etc but I’m not so sure reading the community use agreement that would be possible.

I got the impression it was the facilities as a whole inclusive of the stand facilities and pitch…

Any clubs can use the pitch so long as there is a few weeks notice I think.
