Did you really mean to say that? Regardless of the current position, how on earth can you presume that the club’s support base must have no interest or stake in where they are going to watch their team play next season, the season after or indeed even ten years from now. You may be working hard to solve a huge problem but I’m not so sure that being part of this forum benefits your position, as these platforms can easily result in people making untoward comments and responses that can then cast a very negative light. The fans justifiably are very worried.

Yes I really meant to say that. I never presumed that nobody had an interest or stake in it. I asked if you could give one reason why you need an answer right now??

As for posting on this forum, I post on this one thread because of the complete untruths stated by people 'in the know'. And I'm presuming you meant 'befits' not 'benefits'??

You need to read your post. You didn’t ask if me or anyone else could give one reason why me or anyone else need an answer right now. You wrote: ‘I can’t think of one reason why anyone needs to know, in August, where we are playing in February??’ And that to the reader could imply what my post suggested i.e. interest/stake.

Your presumption is wrong – I did mean to use ‘benefit’ but in hindsight maybe you are right to suggest I should have used ‘befits’.

I agree that the forum does encourage some posters to write ‘untruths’ ( which I am sure you find very frustrating ) so maybe some information for all fans could be posted on the club website. As far as I am aware, there is no information referring to the perilous predicament the club finds itself in. Maybe this could help put to bed some of the ‘untruths’ that you refer to.

I don't think either you or your sources have any idea of the shifting sands that the club are dealing with. There is an effort to try and retain our position at BV, for the time being, but we are also trying to resolve the main question of the long term future. No-one could write the current script and the next chapter is still awaited.

As MC has already said, it's impossible to update when 10 minutes later the position has changed - to do so would risk leaving things open to wider criticism.

Of course you're right, it doesn't "befit" a S.L. Chairman to drag yourself onto social media to clarify things to the un-washed.

But this forum has been on the go for many years, populated by quite a few people who really care about the club,yet on the whole are totally in the dark regarding the future.

I look forward to you equally lambasting the Fakebook fraternity in the same measure, or are they so Rose Tinted they don't irritate in the same measure?

As a neutral who has a soft spot for WT, and quite alot of admiration for MC and what he has done for your club. I read the original post from MC as he states: I read it as many people are interested, but have no actual need to know, just yet.

However, I also think MC has been let himself down own with the pedantic nature of his reply.

Literally, you can take the post "benefit" which by definition means "help" which in the context was correct. The change to "befit" I s changing what I meaning of what I assume they intended.

Anyway, good luck, you deserve some.

I can't work out whether you're influenced by tabloid journalists who use selective quotes to fit their agenda and attract attention, or are brainwashed by the marketeers of our consumerist society into believing want=need. Why do you NEED to know NOW?

It's clear from the above post, taken in context, that there are many of us who WANT to know where we're playing next year ASAP, but why would anyone NEED to know?

My inference from the post is that if a decision had to be made today then we'd be going to Dewsbury, but there is still time before the season tickets go on sale to continue negotiations to allow us to stay at BV. It might work, it might not, but that would still be the preferred option and we should continue pursuing that option as long as is reasonably possible, i.e. until season tickets go on sale. Which seems to be a sensible and balanced approach.

This forum has been going years and has had posters who care about the club. Now a lot of them posters have started using social media or other methods for their Trinity news whilst this forum now seems to be a platform from them who strive to promote negativity towards our great club.
