As a question to anyone else on here, who else is getting fed up with the constant bad traffic around Wakefield? First we have the new road, which has not been very well publicised bar Wakefield Express, which does not answer the ridiculous one way diversions:
i.e. Right turn only out of Smyth Street and Drury Lane, straight on at Westgate. Compunding this, the matter of being unable to access Burton Street unless you go on Mulberry Way (the new road near Back Lane and Drury Lane Library).
Then you've got the performance on Denby Dale Road which won't be finished until at least November whereby no traffic coming from Thornes Park is allowed to head for Sainsbury's and therefore meaning that traffic has to either double back on itself at the Retail Park roundabout (where B&Q and the Mazda showroom is) or turn left up Charlesworth Way heading towards the Cinema.
There's also been problems on Broadway, which only seems to strangely occur on mornings which involves fiendish temp traffic lights.
Last but by no means least to really add insult to injury is what may well be happening on either side of the Kirkgate Railway bridge (Kirkgate and Doncaster Road/Chantry Bridge) where it seems yet more long term roadworks may well be in place over the next week or so.
Whilst accepting that road maintenance is part and parcel of motoring, but it seems unreasonable that why so many major routes in and out of the city centre are being affected in one go and for so long and as a driver who uses the above routes frequently, what's everybody's opinions on the matter?
