even if you look at this with the rose tinteds on, this is an utter mess.

To take Dianes comments as they are, basically, carry on, nothings changed, business as usual, is fine, but the key fact is that we are in this situation yet again, and somebody has to take some responsibility and own up as to why. Yes we now have an agreement with HMRC, yes we are not being wound up (yet), but yes prior to that payment we were also £353,000 in debt.

You would have thought with the money from Super League, the money generated by the club, the well known fact that we don't use the full salary cap, coupled with the money from the recent sale of Atkins we'd be far from being in this situation.

How do we time after time end up in this state?!

Whichever way you take this, £353,000 is an astronomical amount of money.

The constant opposition we get from rival clubs, fans and the RFL to being in the division in the first place is more than apparent. When this gets thrown in their faces every other year, can you blame them?

This is bad news and no way to run a business. You pay your taxes before you take your money out for wages, salaries, dividends etc.

If I was a director I would stop paying myself and other directors until HMRC were paid off.

Scary that the club operate so close to the wire and HMRC are not to be messed with. They have wound many companies up before to get their money despite this not being in their own long term benefit.

Glas they seem to have arrnaged a payment plan.
you got that one wrong fella. the first thing you pay are your wages and in the present climate, most businesses are running close to the wire. if the banks can't keep their business afloat without the government pumping in billions then i think the club have done a great job re negotiating their payment to the tax man. quite a large majority of businesses in this country run on credit and they are no different to wakefield and when you look at the size of the debt to the turnover of the club and the payment plan, less than 200 000 is not that big a deal, especially if you look at some of the other clubs and the problems they have.

Maybe this explains why Atkins felt he was pushed out of the club? Very frustrating for us supporters but it's something we should be used to by now!

I think to a large extent that's fair comment. In this case, the problem is not so much what you owe (considerable though it is), but to whom you owe it.

I think the implications any trouble Wakefield could have would affect not just Cas but the whole of SL.

For starters, we'd miss our local derby, a major and important revenue stream.

The troll in chief is too busy on the vt. there maybe some who dance with glee at this news but most rl fans will be hoping that you can get all this sorted and move on.

Very sensible contributions, to be honest I wouldn’t expect any thing other from you two, I was thinking more along the lines of tigerman1+1 et al.

The troll in chief for once has something to work with after months of supposition so she’s it’s no surprise that she has greeted this news with such enthusiasm. To be honest it’s nothing less then deserved. It’s pretty hard to defend.

I'd think thats because most sensible RL fans realise that there is a large part of "that could be our club....", especially the clubs without wealthy backers, and also we dont want to see any RL club being wound up (even if there were wakey fans all over our RAB board reveling in our "decline" a few weeks back  )

It doesn't bode well for your club at the moment but at least they seem to have put plans in place to turn it around and to deal with it, it sounds like it could have been a whole lot worse. It's also better to deal with this now than when the next franchise applications are due to hit the mat at Red Hall, better to sort it now and demonstrate you can keep your house in order.

Good luck with it.

I am starting to get a bit hacked off with all this.
1. How do we get to a point where we are over 1/3 of a million in debt with HMCR, who is responsible? How does diane think she can justify what is happening with a "no more comment" this is our club and we should demand "more comment" and seek to find responsibility amongst those who seek to shoulder none.
2. Where has the £158K cone from to reduce our liability, do we now owe it to someone else, is it the clubs money if so why wasn't it used in the first place or more worryingly where would it have gone if none of this had come to light?
3. Where is the remainder to be sought? Is it going to be another debt, is it coming from proposed player sales?
I am finding myself with little trust in the people that run the club, they seek to hide, no comment is not good enough!!
Recently a lot of people have given a lot of effort to help achieve something amazing for the clubs future, and now this!!!!

If you are not capable of running the club, wish to step aside, or just own up to what ever is going on, feel free, but to me, this is just not good enough!!!
YOU ARE ONLY CUSTODIANS OF OUR CLUB!!
