This is going to go down like a lead brick, however
Talatau Amone has now been stood]d down from all club activities by St George/Illawarra. If he avoids a custodial sentence he’s unlikely to be welcomed back by the club or be offered a contract elsewhere. This is exactly the type of signing Derek Beaumont would make if Leigh were building their squad again

I think he would find it difficult to get a visa for the U.K. I would think one of the French clubs would be his most likely destination if he stays in RL.

First question would be, is he better than either Gale or Lino.
We probably shouldnt, but then also why shouldnt we.
Like the Pimp states though, we probably wouldnt get the visa. If French teams can, could he find himself at Toulouse who I think next year will be our biggest rival should they stay in business.
I dont think many super league clubs would go in for him, plus most quota spots will be already taken
Hes only 21 about 50 NRL games under his belt, and his best years ahead of him. He wouldnt be the first bad lad on our books.
Colbeck, Cockayne and Latu were no angels.
Of course we should go for him

I thought we knew this already? Not sure why they are pushing the same story again.
Ability wise a good signing for a year at championship level. But his recent record with injuries is not great and is unlikely to improve given he turns 36 early in the season so getting him on the field every week might be a problem.

Other than the conviction he’s a certainty to get a visa, 50+ NRL games and a Tongan International. I guess it’d be down to his record before this incident and whether it’s viewed as a one off and out of character thing
