If all else fails I agree with Snowie that a self build stand could be an option.
If the ground could be purchased and a new west stand added, surely that is better than nothing at all.

What about the big humungous piece of crap near my house biggest cold food store in europe. Easy thing to say no money but we are stuck with that. What did council say regarding the meeting were they positive or just there dreary selfs. JOKE

Yorkcourt don't have the money for a stadium even with the further development of the area allowed beforehand, they never did have hence the loosely worded S106 giving them a get out of jail free card. They have (and continue to do so) strung this along for as long as possible to wait until there is another 'community' stadium build agreed just a couple of junctions up the motorway thus giving Wakefield council a nice little get out clause as well. Don't tell me, you have another meeting in a month or so, specifically after the 19th Feb? Just after a rather important council meeting for Castleford Tigers and the Lateral group i'd expect. That project will get chosen as the councils preferred option for that area without a doubt which will finally extinguish any remnants of support for a stadium at Newmarket.

The stadium trust, Wakefield Trinity and the local residents have been done up like a kipper and as i've been saying for months Newmarket is dead in the water. Eric Pickles and his communities department have a new mandate that is pushing more and more decisions to a local level so a complaint to him will likely result in him letting the council adjudicate on the planning issue. Which way do you think they would go? And a legal fight would be way too expensive for the trust to consider. If there is an option of any money at all on the table that can go towards Belle Vue then it has to be worth considering because you just are not going to get everything you want. YCP will just landbank NM for as long as is needed for it not to be an issue anymore, they are in no rush, they don't have businesses signed up for the development right now anyway. The longer this goes on the more likely it is that the trust will end up with nothing out of it, i doubt the Bank of Ireland will want to sit on BV forever. It is a nice piece of real estate that already has planning for housing and to date hasn't yet been given ACV status. Although all that does is buy six months of time, it doesn't secure the ground long term. Also the superbowl and gym won't be available forever. YCP have no legal responbility to build us anything and they have already showed us their moral standing. If it is left too late and the land is sold from under the clubs feet than expect the push for a groundshare to start up again. Lets not even go there.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for the people who have been fighting the battle and thanks to them the club may end up with something, even if it is just the ground and maybe surrounding area back in the clubs name. But the time has come for some tough decisions to be made and make sure something at least is gleaned from this rather than nothing at all.

A seperate development that rode in on the back of the LDF changes. You better get used to it as it probably won't be the only one that springs up out of the ground, the precident has been set.

Are you at these meetings err no. Your just a thinks he knows it all speculator who ponces round this forum knowing he/she can't be challenged face to face. I'll take my cues from those who actually know what's happening if you don't mind.

Personally I wish you'd do one but it's a free country so I can't- however as everyone knows who TRB is and can talk to and question him freely so why don't you level the playing field and tell us who you are and what are your credential - mmm thought not.

I've worked in planning at local government level for over twenty years starting at WMDC, so I know how the system works. Although I live down south these days I also still have connections there and within the building trade. Being Wakefield born and bred I also have been a Trinity fan all my life, albeit now from afar, so funnily enough I take an interest. I haven't been wrong with my predictions so far but you carry on trying to belittle everyone who posts on here who won't suck up to you. I've seen the way you post and talk to people and quite frankly your attitude stinks and your reputation as one of the most laughable contributors to this website is very much justified. It won't wash with me i'm afraid, i've come up successfully against people with more bite than you. But it is people like you who have turned this forum into the poor relation of what it once was. You don't enter into debate, you stomp yout little feet and get personal. Get over yourself.

But in the interest of keeping the peace i'll happily go and 'do one' (how mature of you) and leave you all to hopefully glean something out of this mess. It's not worth the hassle. Good luck, you're going to need it.
