And I'm saying, if you are right, we have done something wrong.
Just like the club have started recognising Kelly's promotion winning side, this side should not be forgotten.
The world doesn’t end at BV does it, there is a wider one. Of course these things are remembered by the faithful and those who were there, but that’s not going to generate new fans is it. I know it’s your mission to disagree with everything I post, even when you’re clearly intelligent enough to know I’m right, a certain amount of hubris on your part.
Les than 60 seconds on both Look North and Calendar regarding our game suggests it’s already a non event as far as the media and the wider sporting world are concerned.
There are far more positives than negatives from Saturday’s game. It was a real shot in the arm for the faithful and it also peaked the interest of the lapsed.
But let’s be real just for once. We are still in the Championship for now, we won what should be called the nice day out at Wembley Cup, even Gale pointed that out. Enjoy it, I am, but it’s a tiny achievement compared to what I believe will come in the next few years. First one being to get back to SL.
Here’s hoping Widnes give us a real game and put some jeopardy into the game on Sunday ,as sweeping teams aside in the second periods doesn’t hit the spot for me . I’m missing the anxiety , the sweaty palms the beads of sweat on the brow and all the rest that comes with close games . Who wouldn’t want a Wigan style game on Sunday when we won it at the very end and the fans went ballistic . Yes we can only play what’s in front and full time v part time brings up huge scoreline , I get that ,I’m just missing that buzz ,and I hope Widnes give us a good test . Would I take a win against a loss ,absolutely any day of the week ,but on a personal level I’m finding this season a tougher watch than I expected and that’s taking nothing away from the other teams at all ,who so far have given us good games for 30/40 mins , then we inject Rodwell n Uele and the rest is a formality. On the other hand if we do scrape a win here and there ,people will be up in arms and finger pointing (usually at Lino ) as to why we didn’t come away with a cricket score . It’s a no win kind of scenario if you get my drift

To be fair if you tried pointing your finger at Lino he’d only side step it

We have had our share of close or not so close defeats and the occasional win for a lifetime therefore for our own status the bigger the winning margin the better.

That’s my thoughts. I don’t want close and tense games. The odd one is fine but the club need to make a statement that the Superleague is exactly where we should be and not the Championship.
As you say, we have had more than our fair share of close losses, close games etc and this season is all about getting the club operating to a quality structure and re-engaging with the fans and growing the support at all levels.
We will hopefully have plenty of the close games next season that some fans crave but I’m enjoying being in a good mood and coming away with a win most weeks.
Even though I'm a season ticket holder, I generally got watch Dewsbury on a weekend, so I'm not so fed up of the blow out Wakey scores, I've only been to 3 Wakey League games this season and one of those was Toulouse, which for 60 minutes was a close game. Try watching other games once in a while and then you'll appreciate the Wakey games when you're at them.
People complaining about blow out scores makes me laugh. A)it’s only for one season (hopefully), and B) it’s nice not to be on the receiving end for once.
Hope to see a few of your fans at Widnes. We have missed the good away support in the Championship and Leigh was the last team to bring a decent crowd. I expect you to win on Sunday by 20 points, but one thing is our coach has instilled some desire to play for Widnes. We have had awful coaches since been in the Championship and players who just come as a holiday camp. I am hoping for a closer game than I think because we need Widnes Town being proud of our team again.
