Don't understand why anyone continues to contribute positive or even neutral info or speculation to these threads? The topic is just Troll fodder and is so predictable it's hard to believe that supposedely intelligent people with the best intent and interest of the club continue to open the door. Why not lock this and start one sometime in the future headed "1st brick being laid" or "Wildcats begin Belle Vue Upgrade".
Because we'd be criticised even more!
We tell you all as much as we can. 90% of any development is in the bit before a brick is laid or a hole dug, we are no different, but there are a lot more people interested in this subject than the few who post, including many who read these pages.
What you suggest is idealistic, and I should know!
What is the councils stance on all of this? Are they for or against (or don't care?) They have just said they need to cut £30+ million and some staff will be made redundant.
Getting behind this could be good PR for them, as in look at us trying to create X amount of new jobs. Or, it could be bad PR, as in they need to save all this money but here they are helping out WTRLFC (I know it's for community use, but non Wakefield fans are not going to see if like that)

I don't suppose anybody knows what conclusion will come from all of this, but one thing I do know and that is that personally I'd sooner have Ian, IA, and yourself fighting for our interests than nobody at all, because without your tremendous efforts we'd have nothing to cling on to.
We are the biggest City without a professional league football club. You have to go a long way down the list of cities in England before you find one not in the top 4 leagues and even further for conference.
It's not a problem to me, just saying.
Our mutual friend is guilty of excessive use of the term poetic license, amongst other things we are not the biggest city without a top flight football team, that's stretching the point somewhat when you include the two deedar clubs' Bradford, York and Leeds as top flight, Hull City are top flight.
Not really there's one just up the road in Ripon and one a bit further up the road at Durham, Here are a few more to throw into the hat, Salford, Lancaster, Ely, Gloucester, Worcester,Salisbury, Wells, Truro, I'm not aware that any of these cities' play up to conference standard, as you say it's not a problem to you, just thought I'd mention it in the context of our mates post.

I agree with that, when you use the city numbers rather than metro area, then it seems more reasonable.
Although Barnsley's generally recognised as the capital of South Yorkshire, it has not applied at this moment in time to be elevated to City status, but when it does I fully expect it to become the administrative headquarters of the county, we will probably take over the Sheffield Eagles club because they too cannot find a decent permanent home and a move to Royal Oakwell would be a strong possibility, they were thinking of going to the keepmoat but unfortunately the majority of donny folk spend most of their time at the Appleby horse fair and it would not be financially viable
