could this be an answer to a cheaper stadium build.
http://www.pudseysteel.co.uk/index.php/our-projects
gone into administration the system is already in place just requires new owner

Bloody Hell!

How've they managed to go into Admin with all that work on their books?

Not seeing any stadium projects though, however their is a development of some flats at Belle Vue underway

I wonder if this ever went through. I remember a post with the link to the bidding page. £2m was the price IIRC.

Doesn't look like it as their only decent stand is nothing like the one you pictured

Interesting. I wonder if it's still in storage. A "six figure sum" was mentioned in the article. A relatively modern stand bought and put together for less than £1m?

This is Darlington FC's old ground. Their previous chairman somehow managed to have a state of the art stadium built between his visits to prison and despite hostile opposition from the council. Darlington FC didn't really need a 26000 stadium with average attendances of 2500 and they went through several financial collapses until losing their ground and being forced to drop many divisions.

The Council ended up in ownership and have done a deal with Darlington Mowden Park RUFC, giving them the stadium and several million pounds in exchange for their former ground which is ripe for housing development. So now DMP play in approx Div 7 of RU with average crowds of about 11 (excluding the accompanying dogs) rattling around in a 26000 seater stadium.

Meanwhile, Feethams, Darlington's traditional ground is rotting away. Darlington FC are homeless and potless and the new stand at the old ground which was perfect for Darlington's needs just sits there watching the weeds grow. Feethams is difficult to develop as it is bounded by a stream and huge Victorian terrace houses down 2 sides and hemmed in by Darlington CC on the other sides through which access was gained to the football ground. There is not much more room for this stand at Feethams than we have on our Western Terrace. I suspect the whole thing belongs either to Darlington CC or a bank ( if one was foolish enough to lend anything to George Reynolds) and either would be desperate to get rid.

And which side would you replace West or East?
Either side would lose the standing area if you did use it.

I have to say this would look great at Belle Vue but would alter the place significantly.

Why would we buy this stand erect it at belle vue when the ground does not
belong to us, why make improvements to someone elses property
Buy the ground first tarting it up now will only put the price up.

I agree why spend on what doesn't belong to you, sometimes it can be reaped back but £1m would take some doing
