eh?????????????? dont you mean not in line for the chop?
No - I meant that if you don't meet the elite stadium criteria you are first in line for the chop no matter what points you score elsewhere - which is what I think it says although admittedly not in the best english!!!
What a way to run a sporting competition, it doesnt matter how good the team is, if the ladies toilets dont have soft paper then your out on your pimply arses.
And some people think Superleague is worth bankrupting their club for
you really couldnt make this fiasco up
Totally agree. There are 2 worse applications than both us and Cas who are pretty much guaranteed to stay in because of where they are located (even though neither have managed to develop their supporter base in the whole SL era - despite one of them having millions in what would be classed as their catchment area)
Looks like Mr Box is swinging his amber and black wrecking ball again.
If we go to Glasshoughton, it is not in Wakefield anymore and so is not my team. If we go to Oakwell as an alternative, it will become a Barnsley team and is not my team. I do not support a limited company called Wakefield Trinity. I support a rugby team in Wakefield called Wakefield Trinity, and when that ends, I can see no reason to support them somewhere else purely because it has the same board of directors.
This is not an anti-Cas thing, but I'm not from Cas, and don't want to support a team playing in Cas. Sport support is an emotional thing, and I'll follow my emotions, not reason.
I am with you . I support a team playing at Belle Vue, Newmarket if it has to be,anywhere else just does not appeal.
The only thing that surprises me is that anybody would be surprised by whats happened. These groundshare discussions have been going on for months, in fact I was asked by someone on here to keep quiet about what I knew because it was so sensitive. Box has had this agenda all along and was just waiting to get voted back in in may before he unleashed his plan. Ignore his claims that its due to spending cuts, the decision had been made long before the government changed. SWAG have been led up the garden path in all this i'm afraid, and as much as they can try to lobby the council it won't make a jot of difference. The political will to make Newmarket happen is not there, so it won't. From the clubs point of view Glasshoughton is a non-starter. The only hope we have is to drop down to the championship and hope to survive, hope that Glasshoughton falls through because of the financials and Newmarket can then be resurrected some time in the future. Its a sad state of affairs when your relying on another clubs misfortune for your own prosperity and one that makes me sick to the stomach. The RFL have a lot to answer for in all this as well. The reality of the situation is that both clubs could easily go to the wall and the whole area will be poorer as a result. There will be no winners in all this and Mr Box will have a lot to answer for.
I think there will be one winner in all this, and it won't be us. Box may have a lot to answer for, but he's looking at the election results and asking himself - who's going to call me to account? The day the rhetoric changed from "Box" to "Peter" was the day we were well and truly sold down the river, but in truth, we were probably shafted before then.

I agree there but Belle Vue is terrible and we need a change the jungle at castleford isn't a bad ground you look at portsmouth who were in the prem there ground aint exactly premier league. We need a new ground ours is worsed of the lot no atmosphere, awful parking, dear prices, scrambling over people to sit down in the stand the list is endless and been a supporter for 20 years watching us there; I am plain bored with it and the majority of wakey fans are. We deserve a new ground before CAS !! hence the name

I would love to know your reason for you deserving a new stadium before us. There's no queuing system - it's all done on finances and whether you have them.

Fully
There is a theory on this forum that NGB4C is a troll. He hooks many people with plain ridiculous statements so I wouldn't exert too much effort in confronting him.
"Therefore, surely nothing in life is to be feared, only understood. Apart from getting shanked at the cash machine!"
I love this city, this is my town. We get a week out, without a doubt, gunna sing it out loud. i love my city this is my town, we get a week out, without a doubt, gunna sing it out loud

Well thats Cas and Waystones out of the race!
We on the other hand can fund the project. All we need is the political will. And believe me if we feel a shafting coming before Sept we will take to the streets. We need him out. I think we need to seriously look at what is the legislation and whether it's possible for citizens to lodge a vote of no confidence.
"Castleford's biggest home crowd of the 1991-1992 season wasn't quite 12,000 while on average they'd sit around 6000 but the noise, the chanting and the singing just blows you away" - Tawera Nikau "Standing Tall"
"I can tell you the atmosphere was extraordinary at Wheldon Road on big days. The ground held around 15,000 people, every one of them close to the action on the field and the noise would be enough to send a rumble through the town" - Malcolm Reilly "Reilly - A Life in Rugby League"

Why do you "deserve" a new ground before Cas? At least Cas have tried to improve/maintain a decent ground and have gone so far down the road to a new one. WTWC's have done f all but let BV run down and because of that you deserve a new ground before Cas!! I'll say it again "WHAT PLANET ARE YOU ON"
