Well said; it's patently clear that Box has deliberately maneuvered us into this position because he knows that his own team can't make GH work without WTW's money. Therefore, the feasibility study will say exactly what he wants it to say and he'll spin it as WMDC acting tough with both organisations to get value for money for the people of Wakefield, whilst he high-fives Richard Wright and Co in the executive facilities at GH.

Pretending that this is anything other than a complete stitch-up is disingenuous and dishonest.

Totally agree - Cas fans were saying this is what would happen months ago.

What Box and Dicky Wright are trying to do is exactly why we should tell them to stuff GH up there arris and then lets see how Box justifies diverting the parcel of land promised to NM to GH for what has always been planned as a private venture by Cas (until we set up the Community Trust and Dicky Wright cottoned on and changes his tune).

I know its not going to happen, but I would absolutley love it (as Keegan would say) if the feasibility study came back as NM was the most feasible (the look on Box and Dickys faces would be fantastic)

just get the feeling the decision is already made ref location and its Glasshoughton.
If anybody thinks SL will grant 2 licences to 2 teams playing in a small town they are in dream land we are dead in the water at Glasshoughton.

Without going into Detail about Mr Box, his agenda is plain enough for all to see, one ground share at GH if thats what you can call it. For me it would not be a ground share we would just be a cuckoo in their nest.

I know it must seem to all wakey fans that Mr Box is stitching you up and if i am being honest it does look to be going that way to me too and if the boot were on the other foot i would feel exactly the way you do.
But looking at this from a different angle do you think that this could be Box's way of telling you in a round about way that Newmarket may not get the planning permision that it needs. I dont think that your new ground has ever been the Problem at Newmarket but i do think that the whole industrial side of things is a complete non starter, just down to the fact that this is greenbelt land and the local residents have kicked up a bigenough fuss to be heard. I also think that Yorkcourts only reason behind building your new ground was to sweeten the pot enough to get the full project pushed through planning.
As i have said this is just a different angle of looking at it from and i dare say not a popular one from your point of view, but maybe this is just Mr Box giving Wakefield another option instead of staying at belle vue or going to Barnsley as has been mentioned. Also what is to sat that Glasshoughton or Newmarket are the only 2 options on the table in this feasability study, at the end of the day both clubs futures are in the councils hands now and i wouldnt be surprised if our derbys continued for the next 10 years but not in super league.

It now looks like Wakey are really clinging by their fingertips to the edge of the cliff, with if we believe many of the comments,Peter Box ready to stamp on our fingers.
From a Cas perspective,a club from a small town, with a proud history. They have never really had any dramas(financial) of note, bounced back from relegation, have an excellent level of support from their catchment area, excellent youth development and reasonable financial stability.
From a Wakey perspective,a club from a small city with a proud history.Too many financial dramas to mention, poor support from our catchment area, improved youth development and financially unstable.

Lets get real here, its not that Peter Box is waiting to push us off the edge of the cliff that has got us into this postion --- its years of our own poor management.

If this feasibility study is to be measured on timescale viability and funding viability - Glasshoughton will get the nod, even Stevie Wonder could see that.

Unless Wakey have real viable alternatives, which im yet to see evidence of,its goodnight Vienna.Relocating to GH is quite simply not a viable option.Wakey may continue in some form, but i dont see how, when they wont have a home.

IMHO both boards of Cas and Wakey have always been aware for years, that whoever got a new stadium the quickest, would ultimately kill of the other in Super League, with no chance of a return to the top flight for the team ousted.

I say with all sincerity,Good luck to Cas,as i firmly believe that over the years you are probably more deserving of the place in Super League than my own club, due to the way you have been managed.

For me,well,my love affair with Wakey of 30 years and the game will end and to be quite frank im not really sure that i will miss supporting a club that lurches from disaster to disaster.

Really is a sorry state of affairs.

Agree with some of this as a business our club has been shambolic although I am not usre Cas and some others are any better.

One big issue fro me has always ben the business side of the club its never in my eyes been professional, everything done as cheaply as possible and I cannot see any strategic planning as you say one we bimble along from one crisis to another.

Everything seems to be centred around trials and tribulations.

I will not go to GH and watch a merged team and I will not go to GH to watch a 'Wakefield' Team.

FWIW good luck to Cas with GH but its time the club grew some b*lls and stood on for once if the club folds so be it it would be for the right reasons not the wrong ones adn the level of investment would be minimal.

What would shareholders like me expect to get back from the sale of the ground?

Nothing I presume. The fight is now NM or bust.

turfedout speaks from the heart on his post, and for me this all stems down to Rugby League being run from top to bottom in an amatuer and sometime seemingly corrupt way. We allow Sky TV to dictate our own game and whilst they do bring in much needed revenue they are killing the Rugby League homeland.

The RFL has different rules for different clubs depending on how 'fashionable' you are - Wakey and Cas risk losing Super League Status if they don't have a shiney new stadium, however i ask the question if the people behind saints stadium suddenly colapsed would saints be kicked out of super league????

Like Turfedout i think the ground share has been on the agenda for some time for both clubs although they will not openly admit it and i expect it has been worked on behind the clubs *bull muck*.

How right you are and instead of all the mistrust in Box, have a closer look at Rod Walker, he has wanted this all along

Why would Rodney Walker want this?
