I seriously doubt it, there no need imho, perfectly serviceable and look ok, I’d say iconic myself.

50 k on them or 50 k on something more important would be my theory but I’m not talking for the club.

Modernise the actual turnstiles and a tidy up of the brickwork would suffice for the actual entrance, once the Porthgain ticket office is gone it will look better. Once inside, though, the concourse is in need of 'refreshing'.

The north east corner is strange as there is a lot of space there, same with the north west corner also.

In a fantasy world there is a real amount of space for a proper modern stand to run along the north stand with entrances from both corners and due to the north stand footprint it could be as big as you like with a concourse underneath with proper amenities (rather then a brick wall for a bog)

Sadly it's easy to say, expensive to do.

The container, not even a cabin , will go but even that will probably pocket someone £500 to take it.

I'll tell you now the amount of things that fall under 'specialist' and thus cost a bomb in the construction industry is staggering, well it is to me!

To knock down and rebuild new turnstiles would imho cost at least 20 k if recent experience is anything to go bye.

I'm certain the figure I heard for decommissioning/dismantling/disposing of those old west terrace boxes was 50k and thats with nothing replacing them. It's frightening.

Put it another way, we'd have to tempt 50 people to become £500 shareholders to pay for that. I'm not sure that is what most of the new shareholders want to see their money spent on.

So sadly some things will have to wait, we need to be realistic here, the YC/Council cash can only go so far.

In the grand scheme the North stand is a temporary fix, but by that I mean at least a 20 year one. It will be vastly superior to what was there before but then what wouldn't.

However the next must fix is the west terrace. Then with a bit of luck we can put something special (trust me it might be) at the south end. Then we can go back to the North.

However it turns out, the BV you will enter for the 2024 season will be a massive improvement on what we had and IMHO will look pretty decent. However we have to accept that what we hoped for from phase 1 now can't all be done in the first hit, it will take a bit longer.

Driving down the relief road this afternoon and it looked like a tower crane has been put up at the ground. Concrete terracing imminent?

Not sure what the next phase is. Safety netting was installed on the roof girders last week. I’ve no idea why except to protect any working below, but then what work needs to be done above the netting? I hope the concrete terracing blocks are going in next, this will change the whole look of the stand.
