Re: club statement : Sat Jan 02, 2021 8:21 pm
I was speaking to a “friend” of mine who worked at the club up until fairly recently.

He has moved to a job with another club.

He was telling me when he took his first session at his new club he was amazed that all the lads were not only there on time, but were actually there 30 minutes early to warm up first.

He was embarrassed as he was the last one there for the session despite being 15 mins early on his first day.

He had only ever been involved at Trinity and assumed it was normal for some players to rock up 10-20 minutes late and not prepared.

Firstly the clubs stated it will deal with the matter internally and that's enough for me.
I just don't get why people need blood, it's a situation that will be dealt with.
I have followed the rules as I understand them and that's in
Essex tier. 4. I feel uncomfortable having to go out to the supermarket when social distancing seems to be non exsistant.
Let the club deal with it but let's be honest some of the suggestions from the fans are totally over the top.

We are stuck in a cycle where this happened and the same faces are involved.

“Needing blood” is sadly a necessity if we are to correct the culture.

Yep they done bad, most serious crime is the stupidity of posting it in Instagram.
Don’t think sacking solves the problem, a big fine and public apology is probs the best solution

If the hints are correct it’s not the first time (mopseys post) and with the bad press coming down on the club - think in MC’s shoes and if you were a corporate sponsor would you want to put your name alongside this lot - you would think it’s close to the brink for some of the players

Certainly one of the players the performance on the pitch isn’t making up for the performance off it.

As stated earlier difficult for the club. If franchising were still in place I’d be thinking the “tick-tack” however with relegation in place in play we may hold back.

I bet in the NRL they would be out on their backsides but over here the player pool is that thin if we got rid some other club would likely pick them up and strengthen.

Agree a culture change is needed.

There is clearly huge discipline issues at the club.

Once more the club is trying their hardest off the field but the lads on it just think they can do what they want when they want.

The tail is wagging the dog and there needs to be a culture change at the club, but that takes time.

The process had to start now though and the club need to put their foot down by setting an example.

Repeat offenders need to be gone, they clearly have no respect for the club.

The tail is wagging the dog.

The only way we change that is by taking a hit on those players refusing to fall in line.

It may affect results short term but never a better opportunity to clear out the ringleaders whilst Leigh are in the league with so little time to prepare for a SL season.

If the club don’t act the culture will never change it will just continue to be a destructive cycle.

There is a recent interview on Trinity TV, and without looking at them again I’m not sure if it was MC,JM orCC, who said they and the club wanted to get the right players who would bring the right attitude to buy into the culture oo the club, believing the players already here already had the right attitude and culture beliefs. It’s the club management and most of the other players who have been let down by a few idiots. I’m a diehard Trinity fan, but those responsible for lack of discipline, need bringing to book. It’s been done before, remember Tim Smith, and that New Zealand full back whose name escapes meat the moment.

Way out of proportion.
Fine them. Heavily by all means. Make them take a test and make them isolate.
And educate them too.

Depends where you are on the spectrum with the scenario and while some people may not have been affected by the pandemic, unfortunately my personal experience has been pretty harrowing and as such I’m probably on the less forgiving side of things I’m afraid. I appreciate some people may be at the opposite end.

Personally I’m fed up of people doing what they want, not giving two hoots about anyone else, and flouting the laws.

I know at my place of work if I was found to be going against the law, and brought covid into the workplace I would expect to be at the job centre. If my place of work got a video of pretty much the same thing I might expect the same even if I didn’t bring covid in, purely down to the fact we have had it drilled
Into us to follow the government advice outside of work, and protect business continuity, or face disciplinary action.

Maybe the club don’t care less if the carefree attitude brings covid in and shuts the training group down for two weeks? I’d be surprised.

Don't get me wrong. It bugs the hell out of me that people don't follow the rules.
You can check the 150 pages worth of me arguing with Miro about it.
However that doesn't mean they should lose their job. Nor should you. Unless your job is a specific job that needs you to, like a doc on the covid ward etc.

The law says you are warned first, then fined if you keep doing it. I'd expect the club to come down hard on them and make an example but not a knee jerk tear up contract. That'll soon go to court. And we'd lose unless it's specifically in the contracts.

I would very much like a team full of players that care about each other and show some sense. And if I were Chester or MC I'd be angry and feel let down.

I haven't seen the video and of course don't know what the club have found in the investigation but I might be looking at a new Captain and this would definitely be considered when looking at new contracts and to be honest when picking the team.

Can I ask you how many times are you happy to be let down as a fan this is happening too much, it doesn't matter which player it is it's happening too many times now within the club
Over in Aus back packers was in danger of losing their visas, imagine if the same happened over here with this lot
