Wakefield Wildcats coach John Kear was today promised a mid-season cash boost of up to £100,000 by the issue of new shares.

A meeting of Wildcats shareholders have decided to make 100,000 new shares available immediately at one pound each and pledged to hand over all money generated to Kear for team strengthening.

“I think it’s excellent news,” said Kear. “We’re obviously making progress on the field - that is there for everybody to see - and the directors are trying to generate additional revenue.

“Any funds that are raised through these shares have been promised to me for team strengthening and I’m delighted about that.”

Kear, who insists the club do not need to sell players, added: “We’re working within our budget,” he said. “We’re pretty happy with where we’re going. The club is sound financially.

“Any funds will not necessarily be used for this season, we are starting to identify people for next year.”

Emailed the club today to enquire about the procedure to buy shares but they must be so busy with people buying them they haven't got time to reply

Maybe the machine which prints shares certificates out is on the blink.

I have a share application form and it's a bog standard form that allows new shareholders to join, don't worry you'll all get a chance to part with your cash.

dunno thats only 100 people, im having some, im buying them from my big issue sales.
