i heard yesterday we are looking at bringing in someone of tongan/somoan origin who won plays in the nrl who would be exempt from the quota but as far a name position or which club hes from i havent a clue so know as much as anyone else.

I would be extremely disappointed if this was the case.

I have not heard anything - but.... you know these guys and you know that they will do what they can to get the best players for our club - I guess what I'm saying is, prepared to be disappointed. Although we appear to be moving forward well with the stadium, we must remain competitive in SL - whilst continuing to develop the younger players. Most of last years academy side are still too young for the first team and we have been lucky with injuries this year (overdue of course!).

I’m sure I’ll get over it, and what I think matters little in the grand scheme of things, but in an age where the governing body are trying to reduce the reliance upon overseas players its disappointing should Wakefield sign yet another.

I know the club must keep their competitive edge up, but with the players already at Kears disposal I think they are more then capable without having to delve into the NRL to strengthen.

Understand exactly what you are saying, but leopards and spots.......

In the longer term we are firmly on the right track - you can console your angst with that thought! :D

I wonder how many would object to yet another overseas signing if that signing was Billy Slater. I suspect you would all be more than happy.
