Going on the games so far, Trinity have competed in all but against the form teams of the competition. To be within even a small chance of beating the likes of Wigan every player at Wakefield needed to be on the top of their game. Plainly that didn’t happen yesterday.
Every time Trinity have taken a battering they have won the following match. This should be no exception however it will be a very close game. Noble is no mug and he will have watched how the likes of Huddersfield, Warrington and Wigan exploited Trinity’s weakness’ and as such attack them, the saving grace is that the respective quality of the three aforementioned teams and the Crusaders is far apart.
Wakefield should have enough to win. I don’t expect much in entertainment value as the performances appear to have dropped off from earlier in the season. I believe the club are missing Brough in the creativity department. Added to that there has been much upheaval midseason which no doubt has played apart in the lack of direction since he left. This may be a blessing in disguise in that the new combinations will click in the latter stages of the season; the down side is that by the time they do it may be too late to mount a challenge in the playoffs.
I’ll go for a 20 – 12 Wakefield win.
