Davide Longo - Good Luck : Mon Feb 14, 2011 9:02 pm
Firstly I’d like to say congratulations to Davide for getting the role of Chief Executive at Featherstone Rovers. Davide is a massive loss to the club!! He has had many offers in the past and turned them down due to his love for the club. When we meet he speaks passionately about Wakefield and his decision wasn’t taken lightly! He has forged many links within the community, in Schools, RL Clubs and other people who can offer assistance to the club. He has brought in hundreds of thousands of pounds through numerous bids to keep the Community Trust at the forefront of the RL including the recent Children in Need Trailer that is corporately branded with the Wildcats logo. He asked for me to help in 2006 and often asks for my help to this day! However why he’s different to others is he always acknowledges and is grateful. Take the community day. I personally raised £3000 in funding which enabled Stavros Flatly to come. I personally contacted 90% of the stalls round the outside, paid through the funding for all the gazebos and made sure the stalls was fun, fully equiped and had an agency attached that may benefit the community. I left the stadium at 10pm the night prior after spending weeks on the project and not many outside the club knew this.. I won’t go on but needless to say Davide made sure the next possible time he saw me he had a letter of thanks and personally thanked me. There’s the difference, he knows how to network gain contacts but more importantly keep them happy and that’s what’s kept me involved at the club! It doesn’t take much but it is essential!!
I don’t often post but I am extremely disappointed and angry with a whole range of things and those who know me personally know I ain’t like this often.. I will leave my wrath for another day!
For now Congratulations and Good luck Dav, Featherstone have an extremely good catch, someone who was essential for mine………. Say no more Mick Amos
