The City of Wakefield Community Stadium : Thu Sep 25, 2014 7:54 am
With this being propably one of the most important prosesses in our recent history it deserves it's own thread. With M Carter saying and I'm sure we all agree the stadium issues need sorting ASAP and a decision needs to be made in what we are doing. So has anyone got any idea when this decision will be made or a year from now are we still going to be saying meetings are ongoing. Hopefully these meetings that have been taking place are fruitful and Sir R Walker will sort us out a fit and proper stadium.

The short and honest answer is - we don't know!

Some days we think there's progress, then others not! Things are coming to a head in many ways, but no answers just yet.

Jonathan Stone and myself are now directors on Sir Rodney's Trust, and yes, that means even more meetings!

No promises, except that we are working really hard on several levels! It is even more frustrating from here!!!

This exactly.
I haven't a clue what drives the people involved in trying to get this Stadium built. Obviously better men than me; I lost the will to even hope for a new stadium after Thornes fell through. This Yorkcourt debacle slammed another 9inch nail into the coffin for me.

We stay at BV and upgrade the ground.

A smaller stadium is still built at NM for community use ?

That is one of the options, but more a case of pitches at NM with some viewing facilities than a stadium as such.

Regardless of the location of any stadium build (if we ever get there) we want to try and provide at least some of the Community facilities planned for NM.

Interesting day! Who knows where it it will all end!

Be nice to have something rather than nothing ! I'd love us to stay at BV but would also love to see something built at NM that's available to the community of Wakefield.

But don't we need to buy Belle Vue back before we can do anything with it??

I've been an advocate of staying at Belle Vue but only if the redevelopment is total rather than token.

If pushed on a location Id still go with Trevor Woodwards idea of the Pugney's area of Denby Dale Rd.
