Great.

The guy said we'd challenge for the top 5 and have a crack at the cup. With the form we're in the top 5 is slipping away if not gone, and went out with a whimper in the cup. Lost to London twice, badly. Lost to Hull KR. Lost to St Helens who London have beaten. Lost to Warrington who Hull KR beat yesterday. Got nilled at home by the worst Leeds team in history despite having first choice pivots back.
Despite needing a result today we got thrashed.

Players making the same mistakes week in week out, most of them the seniors. No desire to defend after a scoring a try, this has been a season long weakness. Brought Brough in for game management, haven't seen much of that this year.

If it wasn't for those plucky wins over Wigan and Leeds around Easter...

It’s not enough to say “all the improvements” can you be more specific?

Well as a team generally competing for 5th over the past couple of seasons rather than million pound game like before he came.
Lyne has improved under him. Tupou has improved under him, I'd say Tom has too. Ashurst probably too.

It isn't going well at the moment but the players haven't suddenly become bad players and the coach hasn't suddenly become a bad coach. You've made it clear you don't like him which is fair enough but don't imply it has always been like it is now.

Just listend to Chris Chester on his post match interview and he says it as it is. The poor performance and lack of effort by certain individuals just isn't good enough. He obviously mentioned the lack of what he described as quality and that confidence is very low but as he says it's not going to get any easier and does admit we are now firmly in the relegation battle. The only positive is some players could be back for the Huddersfield game so let's hope that's a chance to turn this season around.
Nows the time to get behind them as it's going to be a roller coaster finish. :?

I completely understand that you can’t expect our youngsters to perform like our so called seasoned pros and have no complaint in that department .
What I can’t stomach is our defensive structures on our line ,virtually every time the devils got a set of six on our line they breezed through almost unopposed, on one occasion we had only two players from the goalpost to the touch line facing five ,lui and hasting had a field day and we’re almost untouchable.
I shudder to think what the wires will rack up against us it we don’t get our defence sorted

To be honest I thought you were referring to improvements at the club in terms of structure, principles, systems etc. Something that could be built on by the next coach and I was curious as to what you were referring to in that regard.

I don’t know Chester so there’s nothing personal in my opinion of his coaching. He seems capable of organising the attacking structure when he’s got some quality in the team.

I’ve said one thing constantly over the last 3 years or so and that’s that neither Chester or any of his staff seem to understand defensive coaching & systems. If they do then they must struggle to convey that understanding to the players.

We’ve had one year of good defence under Chester except it wasn’t down to him but John Kear. I’ve been consistent with that opinion for years so I’m not making anything like anything just because we’re poor now and for you to suggest so is wrong!

Agree. Our defence has gone backward since John Kear left.

Im not for throwing any young player in at the deep end but we have seen some good quality youngsters develop quickly given the opportunity. The coaching staff will know when to introduce the players and how to develop their game, or at least I hope so.
I don't think we will ever be in a position to introduce 3/4 within a short period of time , but a progression on a regular basis will do nicely.

If we had a fully fit squad, which of our home grown players would get in the starting 17? Honest question. (Not intended to slate anyone or any player before I get shouted at by anyone...)

James batchelor, Tom Johnstone, Jordan Crowther, Max Jowitt and with Lee & Jack still improving with more game time. Who do you think, let me guess

The youngsters weren’t the problem today they put their bodies on the line against a much more polished opposition .The team as a whole lacked cohesion and were nearly as clueless in attack as defence .The body language was their for all to see and IMHO were outclassed/ out gunned in every department today .i know we can’t win every game and are doing it tough through injuries like never before.we had seventeen men on the park today who should be able to compete with the likes of Salford, but for whatever reason we fell far short of that goal ,wether that’s coaching or players attitude it’s needs sorting ASAP
