This.

At least we'll soon be rid of all those "what's happening with the new stadium" posts. What will posters like cosmicat do with all that spare typing time? :D

Fully, you are splitting hairs, recorded at the time from cllr Box was that the deal was Castleford could not afford to pre buy the land even though they own their own ground ! Therefore by agreement of the developer getting full planning permission - unobstructed, the developer would charge £1.0 & Castleford RL would own their new stadium ! But their ground would go to the developer for building housing approved by the council. Therefore a new ground & stadium for £1.0 all with no hassel, however I do understand that their has been frustrations & that they continue, but all at no cost to the club & therefore no debt to the club !!!

Ask your Chairman what's going on. He's supposedly a whizz, but didn't buy the ground at a bargain price and has now borrowed money to pay almost double its value!!!!! You really couldn't make it up.

How little you know. The people at the club did indeed consider buying the land, but were advised against it, by those people considered trustworthy at that time, as it would push up the price, but not to worry because those thought trustworthy had a cunning plan to secure the land for the club. Just as we saw the actions of other so called trustworthy people in Council chambers last Thursday.

Er, Mike's not the chairman.... he's the Chief Exec.

He’s referring to Mike, it was he who had the chance to buy the ground and didn’t for whatever reason.

What's that got to do with the council granting more planning permission and York Court not contributing any money towards a community stadium?
