Real shame that. I believe backs are really difficult to sort due to the many possible reason

Its a blow for him and for us. Like TJ I think its all about getting him fit for next season now, so with a bit of luck we can have another big push. Not saying this seasons lost, just that we won't have those two very valuable players available.

This is Chezzys announcement which confirms surgery. Hope the lad has a speedy recovery and the op goes well


Matty Ashurst’s injury is a season-ender. He has an issue with a disc in his back that we’ve tried to manage conservatively but that disc has moved another 10mm so in total 18mm and it’s touching on the spinal cord. He’s been getting a lot of trouble down his left leg so we made a decision last week to get a discectomy. He’s going to miss out for the rest of the year.

Ouch, god these guys earn their money at times. Best of luck to Matty, these ops I know personally are risky at the best of times but when your job depends on it! First and foremost so long as he emerges healthy then we will worry about his playing career later.

We are missing him big style but when you put it into perspective we have to wish Marty a full and speedy recovery.

Can’t p1ss about with spinal problems, best it’s sorted. Pretty much an entire season robbed of the 2018 dream team left edge
