Sorry, but just can't agree with this. I don't care what other nations do we should not be stooping to picking players that are not British just to try and get a better side (which clearly didn't work anyway). Play the best BRITISH players available, if we lose then we're no worse off than trying to cheat the system and still losing.
Watching out overseas half’s totally outplayed and bereft of any ideas your probably right.
It seems like we haven't learned from years ago, trying to fit square pegs into round holes!! I think it was 2004 when Sinfield was hooker, when David March on form was probably the next best available, but never got a look in. I also think now there are too many 'versatile, utility' types who don't actually have a recognised position. Jake Connor, a very gifted, talented individual, but what the hell is he?! A stand off, full back, centre? Don't get me wrong, especially at club level you need a couple in your squad who can slot in at various positions and do a good job......Hampshire being a prime example, but I just don't think it will work at international level.
Agree Connor is gifted, but while ever he try’s being the hard man the better or someone will deck him big style. Definitely takes away his concentration from the job in hand.

A great player when ball in hand or running a line. A Richard Head when he opens his mouth or gets involved.
If an international team performance over a number if international games is a reflection of its domestic game, then it shows our Super League competition in a very poor light. This GB squad and the chief coach have been a huge disappointment on this tour.
Agree on the last bit
I’ve always believed that having more of our players playing in the NRL is key
Half the team are based in the NRL (and playing very well too) and yet they with the rest of the team were woeful
We are much better than the points suggest Prob the most didapointed I’ve ever being with a GB/England team
Having watched that shambles of a GB team for the past 3 weeks, London must be feeling aggrieved that GB weren't entered in Super League last year as they would certainly have been relegated. From appalling selection policy to coaching inventiveness out of his players, Bennett has been a disaster for British RL. How could you possibly end up with a threequarter line like that. Ok the first choice wingers were injured and at home but we cannot possibly have a game without any creativity and invention. Four halfbacks on the field and all they did was leave it to each other. It seems as though Bennett sacrificed balance and structure to get as many Aussies & NRL players into his squad as possible.
Power and speed beat us today, line speed, play the ball twice as quick, ....... oh... and Johnstone, what a player, who made our half’s look like amateurs. Keep going Bennett laws of averages says you’ll win one eventually
Same as the last World Cup. It's as if he gets them to do defensive drills and nothing else. That was a very very long 80 minutes. Get a British coach. None of the Aussie coaches has done any better than the British ones. Powell for me, or Wane. No more Bennett for me though.
I am in NZ on the tour, it's embarrassing. Most of us walked out in utter disgust at the hooter. PNG and Fiji played before and the standard and entertainment was brilliant.

I'll tell you what he was today mate, invisible along with quite a few others. Get shot of Bennett he's killed our game.
