How can you be so naieve PT? Do you think that money he gave to the working classes came out of his own pocket or Tory party funds? Did it helluz like. It was borrowed and we will all be ultimately paying it back in higher taxation. Hopefully they will fund it by scrapping that white elephant, HS2.

Just think about the Famous words of Lincoln and Lydgate

You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.

Never a truer word spoken.

Bob Dylan quoted something very similar, by repeating the above but completing it thus: "I'd like to be in your dream if you'd like to be in mine." :ROCKS:

Or just for you “ you can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time but you cannot fool all the people all the time”

These are the words of Lincoln which are still applicable to Johnson. I am afraid you fall into the second scenario judging by your previous posts.

Actually, I think yours was the correct quote, Scarlet.

World Health Organisation, 6 March: "80% of infections are mild or asymptomatic."

Matt Hancock, 22 April: “Asymptomatic transmission does occur [and is] one of the very significant challenges of the virus.”

Boris Johnson, PMQs, 8 July,: "one thing nobody knew early on during this pandemic is that the virus was being passed on asymptomatically".

The one thing you have to do with Johnson is pay attention, and look back at what has already been said. If you do, you'll see how big a liar he is.

Nothing to do with the Government setting a pI$$ poor example of adhering to the lockdown rules then?

I’m sure if Cummings can get away with “going for a drive to test his eyesight”, then I’m sure people are now allowed to protest against systematic racism?

It wasn't just government setting "p'ss poor example" there were plenty of others (if not more)on the other side of the political divide, but it doesn't suit a leftist view to state this , does it Willzay

The problem is when you are the person setting the rules the onus is that you actually follow them or it could be seen by many in the population as a kick in the teeth. This is then followed by a SAGE advisor also breaking the rules with his lady friend. The latter at least showed some guilt by resigning whilst the former came up with the lamest excuse they could come up with after falling to realise the effects of what he did or probably he did not care because Johnson would back him regardless.
With power comes responsibility unfortunately the current government and their advisors do not seem to understand this and let’s not even go to the situation of Robert Jenrick who appear to ignore all expectations that come with the job.

I doubt it. They are quite happy to waste money.
