It was until it was changed at a meeting in Unity Hall set up by Rodney Walker when a vote was taken to change it to a limited company. It was at the same meeting that the signing of Laurie Daley was announced albeit he never arrived due to an ankle injury.
Members clubs had their day. We wouldn’t exist as we are now if we went back to that. I think I’m right in saying that there was only one full time employee at the club back in the 60’s - Eddie Thomas who was the club secretary.
Remember well the Members AGM meetings in the eighties and possibly into the nineties. For many years held at the WMC on Jacobs Well Lane, also at BV and I think the Unity Hall and town hall on occasions.
