Even before the season starts, unless all the club's in Super League and the Championship can fulfil all their fixtures and the final league tables are completed i cannot see promotion or relegation taking place in 2021. Wakefield played 19 games last season whilst Catalans played just 13 games, if the same was to happen this year l couldn't see any club whoever it is accepting relegation without a fight.

I was thinking the same. It’s hard to disagree. The percentage system will likely come back in mid season if too many teams suffer set backs due to Covid.

In this instance it would be unfair if due to outside influence a team or teams were unable to complete fixtures to the same amount as their relegation/playoff rivals.

I honestly think the best way forward with the uncertainty is to have no relegation and plan to increase to 14 teams with top 2 promoted in for 2022.

Of course this will only happen if a team like leeds, saints, wigan, wire end up Covid ridden in the camp and have to run depleted teams sustaining losses putting them at relegation risk.

I think the percentage system could also be unfair. I can see a situation where some. clubs at the lower end of the league table play a higher percentage of games against the stronger teams at the top. If some teams think they are likely to lose against top clubs, the temptation might be to feign an outbreak of virus in the camp. I think last season (without checking up ) we played a higher percentage of games against top half teams.

Yep I think that would have to come into lower clubs thinking if it were to be used again.
I know we were crap for most of the season but the argument from a club looking at relegation due to this would have to be that obviously if day is as last year played more and in such a tight schedule towards the end of season then we can’t be expected to compete to full strength as opposed to say Catalans who undoubtedly would be fresher for every game.
Then there would be more idiotic looking super league leaders being taken through the legal system making us looking even more stupid than we do half the time anyway.
It is time we had real leadership from the top but we could argue that all day long, but the ones who have the power would never get it!!! That’s why they keep a tight purse on our now split 3/4 different rugby league bodies. We’re small to start with as sport goes and only our leaders could manage to make us smaller in a large pond and that’s gone on for decades.
