They got a bit choosy into the first half, I came back from the toilet and a steward tried ushering me to the lower tier of the North stand, it was only after I pointed out my mates that he let me back in. The stewards didn’t seem to be counting people in so not quite sure how it’s gonna work? After saying that, Fridays game is gonna be our biggest attendance this season so we’ll see

Turned up at 7.45 and was told by the first steward that we couldn't enter the Upper. Went to another and told him we had Upper ST's and he let us in.
Didn't seem that full tbh....

Top six 2005 - Trinity.

Re: Stadium and other issues : Wed Mar 20, 2024 9:33 pm
I have just had a good look at the Castleford tigers planning drawings on the portal….

Though they are only spending around a million or so more they appear to be getting very much more than what trinity got for not much less (and had to make cuts).

New almost full length boxes x 12 (130 ppl) , and 220 function like ours but also gymnasium/lifts/bar areas, canteens, offices aplenty, club shop, lounges, directors boxes too.

New 4G training pitch laid, with new floodlights. New training pitch with another 4 x floodlights.

New boxes on other terraces x 2 and toilet other buildings been built.

All new turnstile blocks and entranceways around stadium and big screens etc.

I thought materials had gone up and we were limping over the line with so many cuts.

Good luck to them but looking at those documents and what we have (which I am happy with) it appears on the face of it optimistic to say the least. Not sure how they’ll get all that over the line. Probably take 18 months too atleast.

They're not getting anything more than Trinity, there is a planning approval for it, that doesn't mean it gets delivered, especially on the budget they've got. :thumb:

tbf price of materials has dropped since our build was ongoing... nevertheless like others said, just because its on planning approval, so many unscheduled delays/costs can crop up

I buy lots of building materials and I've yet to see any prices drop in a lot of building suppliers!
I'm not saying some haven't but I would imagine most are considerably higher than they were 3 years or so ago!

And will only continue to rise. Perhaps, it’s optimistic of the plans

I work for a builders merchant and one of my jobs is to update the database on prices, timber and steel have dropped (around 10-15%) in the last 6 months, however other materials have gone up like blocks/bricks, cement, plaster, plasterboard and aggregates(Sand/ballast and alike) by over10% and this month I've just been notified copper is going up by 5% which will effect pipe/tube and also electric cables. :thumb:
