Poaching appointed interim coach. I would have liked to have seen Last given a chance. Under the circumstances I thought he did a pretty good job last season.

Lasty would have done okay. Wonder if it’s because he was rumoured to be joining LR at Cas?

Weird how Chester was about to sign a new deal, then gets relieved of his duties. Maybe due to his outburst at the weekend. To be fair, he’s looked miserable for the last year and a half.

When you take up the poison challis of being a Super League coach, especially at clubs with limited resources, you just know the axe is waiting, it usually starts promising, then results revert to type, the fans turn against you, then the players don’t produce.

Pressure builds, almost hatred comes the coaches way, he's hung out to dry before all and sundry, nightmare interviews asking for reasons for defeats, it isn’t as if these guys are on massive football salaries, we are really an amateur sport, playing the part of being professional.

Im pleased the likes of Agar, Carter, and Chester have finally pointed the finger at this corrupt disciplinary sham, and a few different faces will later sit on the panel. Adrian Morley as the judge should offer hope to any who steps out of line.

Chessie has hung on longer than most, the secret is to do a couple of seasons like Brian Smith, Holbrook and Madge, then run for cover leaving them wanting more.

Good points Rider, if I'm honest I thought Chester did well when he was at Rovers at the time and again with Wakefield when you consider as you say the limited resources he's had at his disposal during his tenures at both clubs.

I think after his outburst publicly following their defeat to Huddersfield his position at Wakefield was untenable. His reaction was probably his frustration boiling over at certain members of the playing squad that have seemingly let down the club and jugging by some of the performances the players have put in at times I can understand any coach being pushed to breaking point.

Wakefield certainly seem to have a squad players that when they want to play can but also very much the opposite which is a big issue, so I feel for the Wakefield fans and whoever comes is as their coach.

He has also been very unlucky with injuries whilst at Wakefield
