So a 2nd positional change occurs. I think its a good move for him due to his age, having Wade as a mentor and now probably being 2nd choice for fullback. Hard to say having not seen him play there before. He certainly has good speed for returning the ball but whether his positional awareness and tackling are good enough for Full back remains to be seen.

Does this mean Jack Briscoe has left then or is his long term future seen on the wing and not full back?

I'm sure he played Full Back against Oldham in the cup last year when he came on. From memory he chimed into the line quite well, and his speed off the mark pushed him through gaps for a couple of tries.

I wouldn't be too concerned by it.

If you listed the attributes of what a modern fullback needs, tackling would be close to the bottom (it sounds strange as they're the last line of defense, but true).

Fullback is an attacking option, chiming into the attacking line, acting as an overlap/extra pivot, returning the ball against broken fields etc. Positioning, speed, agility would be the top 3 attributes IMO.

I play fullback at amateur level and even at that level, very few clean breaks are made, and some games I won't have a one on one tackle to make. Most of the tackles I make are when the opposition are close to the line.

good piece by the mail that! Just turned 19 not 20, ankle n knee injuries not broken leg and broke try records as a centre not a winger! Dont seem to get that much wrong on the negative fc stories!! Reece will still come into wing position contention should either wing get injured but long term a good move! Instinctive player and will suit fullback! Played it fair few times at 20s last year,scoring and setting up a good number of tries! Most pro players defence up to playing full back as its simple 1 on 1 defence,its the positional part of being in the right place thats the main bit!

Didn't Reece play a significant number of under 20's games at fullback last season? It may also explain the Lee Smith rumour

I don't understand this bit

Does that mean that if Lynch had said his favourite position was scrum half that he would be training as a scrum half, and would only play if Seymour & Ellis were injured.

Surely these decisions are not just left to the players, PG MUST believe that Lynne is better as a FB than a wing.
