Saints have signed Lance Hohaia and already have Pryce. Lomax and Gaskell are decent
Leeds will probably stick with Sinfield/Mcguire/Burrow
Wigan have Leuluai & Finch
Warrington have Myler & Briers

Honestly can't see any other teams paying the transfer fee and then being able to afford his salary. We are one of the few clubs who can afford it and have enough players OOC next year to fit him under the cap.

Wigan and Wire could afford him by using their accountant, Paul Daniels or by releasing players. Saints may be planning to use Hohaia at FB, and Chase to line up in the halves with Pryce/Lomax/Gaskell. Wellens may retire... it's all speculation but I would like to think we stand as good a chance as anyone else right now

I would have thought it will be Agar's initial decision. Along the lines of ...... "Longy if you want to stay there is a 1 year contract for you - let me know soon so we can act accordingly". He probably told him this a while back and is waiting for a decision - Long was saying last year he would like another contract for next year. It's also possible that a decision has already been made but not publicised - the monitoring of Ellis would add weight to this. There is no evidence that Agar isn't making the decisions - none at all.

I really hope the club haven't already offered Long a contract for next year, it would a shocking decsion this early.

I've been in Egypt for the last week so haven't been able to keep upto date with all things FC. What are these rumours of this player Ellis from Leigh? Also what other rumours has there been going about?

Gareth Ellis's brother - we're interested in him to match Mason's chin

Also we've signed Inglis and Idris with Tom Briscoe going to Oz.

It makes perfect sense and is what we already knew. If Long stays then we sign a young SH and if he goes then we opt for more experience.

Pointless getting rid of Long for the sake of it if we can't get better.

Pointless keeping long on a top salary when he spends more time watching us from the stands than he does on the field.

Still, good to hear he's in tip top condition again. Hopefully he won't be out injured with another of these "unlucky" inpact injuries again in a week or two

What makes me laugh is when Agar says it has nothing to do with age. Is that why if you fall over when you are 8 you get a sratch, but when you fall over when you are 80 you brake your hip. Of course it's his age

No it's not, he's just "unlucky"

long was out for about 2 months last year with a hyper extended elbow, murrelly was out for 2 weeks with one

That's right because of course all hyper expended elbow injuries are identical in severity.
