Yes AP did state that there would be at least two more new players in for the Leeds game. Let’s hope eh! New coach named as well anyone? I doubt that, but let’s just dream.
Even with the best intentions, it's difficult to bring quality players into a struggling team part way into the season.
Which is true, but when your fan base is already annoyed by poor recruitment, a head coach serving up abysmal performances, questions around whether the cap is being spent or not, you can't then make a statement that there will be new faces in by the Leeds game and not follow through with it, otherwise it just further undermines the trust your fan base has in you and further alienates/annoys them

He didn't actually say that there would be guaranteed new signings by the Leeds game, but that they were trying to sign some in time for the Leeds game. Just extracted the quote from Hull Live:
Shopping in the NRL market at this time of the year is not easy, and the UK market is even more difficult, but we're relatively confident that in the next two weeks, we'll see one or two arrivals in the team, hopefully in time for Leeds.
Thought that it was worth throwing out there for context that there was no actual statement or promise made, just that the club was trying. Fits in with the rest of his interview as he wouldn't commit to anything or give too much away about names, time frames etc.
Even with the best intentions, it's difficult to bring quality players into a struggling team part way into the season. Hopefully tomorrow and Tuesday will bring some positive news about both a coach and players. I know we could all do with some good news but I bet the team could do with it too. There's too many kids on the park at the same time right now and it's not sustainable.
We have seven of our own players back over the coming weeks so really dont see the point in short term loans/signings Fans now know the situation and i would rather the club put all their efforts into getting some quality and hopefully a big name or two in for next season to get some excitement back into the supporters

A lot will depend on who is available and what they would bring to the squad. Whilst we have a big squad, there's a lot of inexperience. If they right players can be brought in to give some confidence and improve performance, I wouldn't object. Short term signings can work both ways and there's not a lot to lose right now.

see your point but the seven players coming back in are what we would consider to be first team players apart from Mitch but even then i would have him in the team at centre just for his defence Given what is probably available in the loan/short term signing market wont make any difference to where we will finish in S/L which is bottom three and the money saved is better spent elsewhere.

The problem is we are probably averaging seven players missing every game so unless our discipline improves and our bad luck with injuries changes you could see Ashworth, Fash, Trueman and Carlos back but, say, Ese'ese, Pele, Sutcliffe and Cator being unavailable.
Really tough being able to bring anyone in so early in the season but if we can we should, I think.
