BACK IN THE BIG TIME!

I've watched many a derby from the away end at the boulevard not having a clue what was going on at the other end of the pitch because of the sheer distance away!! we just got on with it in them days and didn't use it as an excuse not to turn up and cheer our team on win, lose or draw!!

Both grounds facilities in those days were no where near the standards of today but you rarely heard people saying.... I'm not going to this or that sh..t hole, such was the fanatical passion of both sets of supporters .
I cannot understand any fan of either side who say they wont go to either of the two grounds on the basis that it puts money in the others coffers or the ground is cr..p etc etc.
In my opinion, anyone who comes out with such excuses is either a part time supporter or a soft pussy wussy . :)

You sir are the first ever Rovers fan I've come across that likes to dwell on the past. No really.

My point which you so spectacularly managed to miss is that nobody should have to give an "excuse" for not attending the game. Whatever the reason happens to be it is valid to that person otherwise they would be going. Whether you think its valid or not is immaterial.

Are you really comparing the view from the Gordon st end at the Boulevard to the thing you laughingly call a stand.

Unbelievable

At least you could see from both ends at the old Craven Park.

It was a light hearted way of conveying my thoughts on such part time supporters, perhaps you didn't get that, I did put a smiley at the end as a clue.
If I said what I really thought I'm pretty sure that I would be banned indefinitely, but as I had no wish to be, I thought a simple light hearted phrase of type was suffice.

Slightly better view due to the elevation but distance wise just as bad if not worse!! there was about a 30ft walkway from the stand to the barrier!!! suppose some fans only see what they want to see??

Not even close, at the Rovers South stand you can't see anything at distance because it's too low and far away, hard to see the try line closest as it's too low and advertising barriers in the way.

Even Odsal is a better view, i can't believe that any Rovers fans can defend that stand, worst view I have ever had and thats including many lower league grounds.

Don't think i'm condoning the view from the south as I agree it's bad, but it is what it is and moaning every year will not change anything! i'm just making the point that certain fans love to make a fuss about it when in reality the boulevard wasn't much better !
At the end of the day if you want to come fine, if not also fine!! I won't lose too much sleep, same as if I decide not to go to your ground in the reverse fixture!!

That is true you could, one end in particular was uncovered, whilst the other(the toke end) was partially covered by a small shed but the view wasn't to bad as I remember.
However, the old Boulevard wasn't much different from the current south stand at Craven park in relation to the distance from the pitch side, the only probable difference been the terracing was at a slightly steeper angle at the Gordon street end.
