I remember seeing a ‘did you know?’ thing in a football magazine (possibly Shoot!) when I was a lad that the player with the shortest name in Football League history was Ian Ure. They also gave the player with the longest name but I’ve forgotten that… also I just looked up Ian Ure on Wikipedia and he was actually John Francombe ‘Ian’ Ure. He might have succeeded Alex Ferguson as Manager of East Stirlingshire though.
Quite notable (to a trivia dullard like me, at least), therefore, that you have had Sam Moa and Tex Hoy within a few years of each other.
