Again, with AP signing players of world class calibre(his words not mine)you are more than likely to be stronger on paper than we will be next season. As MrPhilb pointed out, the game is won on the pitch and looking at our consistant appearances in the play-offs, we seemed to have faired far better than you guys over recent years.
Since Rovers promotion, we've won a play-off game and so have you. We've also been to a major final. The big question is around the trajectories, ambitions and financial clout of the two clubs going forward. If our two chairmen's recent statements are to be believed, AP wants to really unlock our latent potential, and his articulation of his vision was apparently the tipping point for the aforementioned world class signing, Gareth Ellis. Hudgell is on record as saying Rovers are skint, will have to take backward steps and are unable to pay the market rate for players in many instances. It's all talk, isn't it? But as a fan, the mood music from FC is much more positive.
I'm not really sure what your point is on recruitment. Hull FC haven't finished yet AFAIK, but regardless of that, the landscape is fundamentally changing. Wigan in a scrap for Matty Smith to replace Thomas Leuleuia is the totem here. I'm confident AP won't sell us short in this environment. Selling the fans short, apart from things like announcing signings early (according to Hudge whenFC did it, now it's fine, apparently), would
definitely include hiking ticket prices to watch a poorer quality squad, for example.
