Whiting is an example of how a professional sportsman should behave. He has more reason than most of the squad to stop trying. Having been dropped for the terminally average Greame Horne when he'd done nothing to deserve it, then not starting the game today after last week's performance, it would be easy to see why he might feel a tad miffed.
And yet, he keeps giving 100% despite what his own personal feelings might be. A credit to himself, his club and his profession. Certain others should take note.
I'm slightly worried that a contract extension hasn't been announced for him yet. Surely the club wouldn't be stupid enough to let him go, would they?
