Westy is signed until the end of 2016. If he did leave then I'm not sure who be interested in buying out his contract. I think he's a decent player and still don't think we've seen the best of him.
We would have to sign a player if Houghton is injured either on loan or permant, Rovers, saints seem to have managed to do that this season.
I wonder if Manu does sign they might push Mini or Pritchard to prop, bit of a waste but an option.
The good thing about signing Manu is he is 28 and with Mini, Ellis, Whiting and Pritchard all in their 30s it could a great short and long term signing for the club.
What a pack we would have next year if this signing comes off, if the two new backs work out we could surprise a few next year.
Ellis Houghton Watts Mini Manu Westy
Pritchard Taylor Whiting Washbrook
I think we could get away with 3 props next year as all can easily do 60 mins.
if this signing comes off I reckon it means we know Ellis is not coming back. We dont need so much depth in one area.
I fear that we may lose Thompson and I really rate him.
I know Ellis may be moving to prop but we still have Mini, Tommo, Westerman, Whiting, Abdul, Pritchard, Yeamo, Downs, Hadley, Fash, Turgit, all for 3 positions plus a bench spot.
I know it keeps coming up but is there a chance that Westerman is going?
As others keep saying I'm worried about cover for Hooker.
The other confusing thing is how many overseas players we are signing, which is at odds with the 'club Hull' vision the club has given us. Personally I don't care where the players come from if it makes us successful, but it again seems the club are confused about what strategy we are going for.
So far we have Talanoa, Michaels, Tuimavave, Minichello, Pritchard and Fornua signed on, and now Hansen and Manu linked. All of whom you'd expect to be first team regulars. Feka would also like to stay but it looks unlikely. That's a lot of non-British players!

Think the non-fed allocation is seven so you'd be fine with all of those if Feka leaves. Hansen won't count on either quota. In fact, now that I think about it, Feka might also not count towards the non-fed quota because of his time at Wigan a few years ago. Not entirely sure of the dates though so I might be wrong.
This is definitely the one they want I think, he would be a top acquisition, a lot of Aussie Clubs want him, however some people would in fact have us believe its a done deal guess we'll just have to wait and see!!

The HDM has linked us with Sika Manu, Heighington and Hansen. I really do think HDM read this column and publish the rumours to fill column inches. Hansen is under contract and I can't see Salford releasing him unless we pay a substantial fee which is unlikely given our supposed financial situation, also I'd be surprised if we could fit anyone of them under the salary cap. If we have that kind of money to splash out we could get a decent hooker. Like everyone else I'm baffled we are looking at another backrower when another hooker is essential.
At present our forwards going into next season are lined up as follows;

I agree...the HDM must just read through this rumours thread and publish what they've read! The unbalance is ridiculous surely they must be looking at a Hooker. I'm thinking Ellis will retire due to his injury and announce it in the off season so this new second row singing will directly replace him thus hopefully room in the cap for another hooker

There was a lot of talk a few weeks back that Hansen was one of the ones who was having issues with pay etc. Might be a get out clause for him if this is true. He's been good this year for them, looked one of there better players.

I would have thought Wigan will be looking to replace O'Loughlin, he's getting less and less games per year. The internal replacement was meant to be Burke who has failed to show anything at our place. Westerman would look a good fit in that team.
