RLFans, come on

even the Hull FC website doesn't say what you suggest it does

not saying you are wrong or right, just that it's all opinion.

Forgot no opinions allowed on RLFans,

however, i'd dispute your instant dismissal of it all

of course opinions are allowed, just don't shade them as facts.

and my dismissal is based on what I know from what I have been told.

not saying you are wrong or right, just that it's all opinion.

The HDM, as with all media outlets, cannot report opinion as fact as you very well know, Standee. They would not only expose themselves to litigation they would, in the cases above, jeopardise their cosy and seemingly crucial relationship with Allam. Under no account would they risk either.

The Mail, as does all the press, reports it's opinions cannily. The infamous 'The Mail understands...' line is usually brought into play on such occasions.

However, the 2 links to the Mail provided above are not examples of the Mail giving their opinion, as you fretfully infer. The first categorically reports the FACT that the SMC agreement has become disadvantageous to Hull:

The HDM stated: "HULL FC have opened negotiations with the Stadium Management Company about formalising a new tenancy agreement. The original document, drawn up in 2004 before Hull moved into the KC Stadium, has come to favour the SMC and punish FC.It states the club can keep gate receipts for the first 7,500 of match day crowds, but above this figure the money is split equally with the SMC. A similar agreement is in place for money generated from corporate lounges and bars.It also included a £100,000 ground rent which increased by six per cent every year. These threshold limits were based on attendances at the Boulevard, but with average crowds at the KC regularly topping 11,000, it has meant a larger than initially expected amount of money has been paid to the SMC each year."

The second link reports the FACT that Holdsworth was prevented from practising his kicking on the KC pitch:

The Mail stated: "It comes after Hull FC's Daniel Holdsworth was prevented from practising his goal-kicking last Thursday, the day before their match with Bradford was originally scheduled before being postponed."

Frepney has demonstrated, as you asked him to, that he is right in what he asserted and it is not just his opinion.

just heard daryl clark's name, apparently we have put in a bid for him, good signing if it happens but still believe cunningham and houghton will rotate.

He's already signed for Warrington.

Hiya Wormy. The bit in red is an opinion (IMO :) ) - as it isn't measured against anything. And even if it were, the selection of the comparator would be unlikely to be universally recognized as fair and objective. Both the club and the SMC lose money on Hull FC matches.
Hull can complain about only getting half the cash above 7,500 - but the SMC could equally complain about getting nothing below that, especially with crowds well down at Hull (as they are at other clubs).
The 6% annual increase, compounded over the years, IMO, probably is turning what was a sweetheart deal, into something of 'millstone'.
