"I definately feel there will be another try Ray" - Jonathon Davies, Saturday 27th August 2005.

: Tue Feb 24, 2009 7:07 pm
I think Duffen is being very pedantic. He says the RFL would not be guaranteed a date prior to the football fixtures coming out in June and therefore stalemate has resulted.

Are there not two days of every weekend? surely whichver football league City would be playing in would be informed and either put City away that weekend or arrange for a Sunday game. it happens all the time in football these days.

Duffen seems to be saying that 3pm saturday is football time - its not!

Like I say, Mr duffen has failed to convince me this is not anything more than pedantic to say the least, and I say that as City season ticket holder.

Did he mention something about Hull FC having a game? I thought I heard this, but I may be mistaken.

Seems that it is after all. Alone among all the football sides involved, Hull City were unable or unwilling to compromise on fixtures.

Pathetic.

Agreed - very short sighted decision and damaging for his reputation, particularly amongst non Hull City fans.

Still, it will be interesting to see what defence 'My Uncle Nobhead' comes up with for this one.

Agreed. Of all the grounds i thought we may get a knock back would have been the JJB, Not KC.

duffen has to resign from the chairman of the smc imo, he HAS a conflict of interest, what a load of b0ll0x regarding waiting for the fixtures, hull city ALWAYS request an away fixture when hull fair is in town, so what is the difference!?

And Hull City dont always get an away fixture during the fair eg. west ham on the sunday during fair, and previous years have been the same .

I tell you what....I almost let out a small wee when the final whistle blew last night......Just the thought of Duffen and co whincing at the prospect of a relegation battle made me feel glad all over

OK.....Sad I know.....but I just can't help the way I feel. We are being ruled by wannabe world beaters.....and it sucks! If it means that Hull City have to go down for us to host a major international.......So be it :D

Yes it is sad , wanting a local club to to do badly .

Seems odd that the SMC are turning down the chance to presumably make a tidy sum for hosting the game.

Well what the hell is it then.........Duffens just admitted on radio its to do with Citys fixtures.

He also said that if the FA. requested to play a U21 game and there was a possible conflict re. an FC game he would have told the FA. the same as the RL.

Thats total bolloxs as they play bloody mid-week...just like the other U-21 games have when we have played...so thats pi££ed on that theory.
