I think Cam Scott is better in the tackle than McIntosh, but DM did well against Warrington, after a shaky start, but like you say neither good with a high ball, though I'd feel more confident, just, with him over McIntosh. , Just my opinion, I just think Scott is a good, solid player, and can cover second row, if absolutely necessary.
I think the high ball scenario is just a confidence thing, you dont get to that level and play on the wing if you cant catch a ball. Its obviousley to me just a confidence thing thats why they are letting it bounce. Unfortunatley teams see this and will direct alot of traffic that way.
Scott has being good defensively for me and running forward. Infact Id say Swift at times has looked the weaker of the 3 returning the ball, although every other aspect of Swifts game is far superior. Its a good problem to have but other then Carlos coming back in I think you have to go with the same team.
With Mcitnosh I feel you get more in terms of yardage, he is actually really good at gaining meters. If he could eliminate some of his silly errors that would his cause massively.
Saw Litten round the ground on Sunday, no medical expert but the way he was hobbling he didn't look ready to be playing a game of rugby on Friday night so expect it to be Mcintosh or Scott on the wing.
I actually think Mcintosh is a better winger than Scott, apart from the one dropped ball, thought he had a decent game, so I'd keep him in this week.
Good to see you are slightly changing your opinion on Mcintosh Dave and honest enough to praise him. I think Scott is more a centre and Mcintosh a winger and that’s where they should play all things being equal.
Catching high kicks is very much a confidence thing and I don’t think too much should be made of the one Mcintosh dropped on Sunday as it was a tough one to take being a meter in from touch

Deserves some praise and seems to just get his head down and work hard. However long term we need better and I'd probably rather give a young winger a game, but Smith sees I different.

Smith will enjoy the challenge of trying to make him a better player and he is he next year anyway. So makes sense to run with him rather then needing to sign two wingers.

I think McIntosh played really well after he dropped that ball. I did bag him for it at the time but credited him later and I don’t really see how we can change a winning team, even if Carlos is fit it maybe that Smith will stick with the team that played so heroically at Newcastle. It’s nice to have that sort of problem but if confidence is the key to getting the best out of players , then dropping them after they play well won’t help, but I’m sure Smith is well versed in dealing with this scenario so we have to trust his judgement , whomever plays on whichever position . I think there were a few calling for Carlos to convert to second row, a la Josh Griffin but he hasn’t got the size to be as effective , in my opinion.

What about Kallum Watkins? Carlos is similar in height at 1.87 but about 5/6 kilos lighter but my opinion Carlos is very strong as a ball carrier and we know has decent defence. If we find it difficult to find a big mobile second row for the right edge but could find a top class right centre Carlos would be ideal to move into the second row
