A back rower and scrum half are the 2 priority positions but the club are waiting until after the World Cup before filling the last quota spot.

Seeing if we can find a talent at the World Cup could be a good more, more and more south sea islands are turning for countries of their heritage and itll be a chance for those who play reserve grade in Aus to impress.

I do find this "see what the world cup shows us" a bit mystifying. Surely the vast majority of players already play for a pro-club and any decent scouting network will know what's what out there. For any unknown player that had a decent tournament is a gamble based on a a few good games in a tournament?

Spot on. What it tells me is that the people I charge of recruitment haven't got a clue what they are doing.

Totally agree as our recruitment seems to more a case of spinning a wheel going to get lucky rather than looking, planning doing our homework before making informed and calculated decisions.

Think Pearson would be better advised sticking to running the club in terms of the business side, Clark moving back to media and having someone who knows the game and has contacts within it to run the team side of the club.

The days of picking up a surprise package are long gone. All the players in the World Cup will be contacted to a club somewhere, and therefore will already be known if your scouting is thorough.

Interesting that Jack Walker was at the MKM yesterday rather than Headingley.
