You should give 2 hoots because without the local fooball that the blinkered Rugby only people despise then there would be no international rugby locally . The venues for the internationals all host football clubs as the main tenant . Even in Hull , while I have been watching RL. , Boothferry Park was used many times to host GB internationals and at least one FC game against NZ early 80 's .
Whatever the whys and werefore that you mention. The fact remains that we now have a COMMUNITY STADIUM that serves the greater COMMUNITY as a WHOLE. Now that includes RL fans, pop fans and football fans. If City had decided to stay at BP then the KC might not have been built. I can also assure you that you would now be playing Northern Premier football at best. So don't throw that arguement at us. City representatives failed on numerous occassions to be present at meetings re the KC and in fact it was one Shane Richardson who did most of the back breaking work to get the project off the ground.
As for BP being used "many times" for RL what the F has that got to do with anything.? If it wasn't such a pooh hole in the end it might just might have been used more. As it was I have seen more internationals at CP and The Boulevard than at BP.
MR D has failed to act in the interests of the whole community on this matter and for that he has cost the local area business and the City as a whole the opportunity of placing itself in the publics gaze. Now if he believes the City is best served with a poor Premier division side as opposed to international sport then so be it. But I fail to see how he can continue as the chair of the SMC as that attitude flies in the face of the COMMUNITY aspect of the stadium.
This whole situation in one go has simply ignited bad feeling throughout the community. D has also stoked the flames as well if his comment stated on here is in fact true. The man is a disgrace and clearly does not appreciate the City for which he is supposed to represent.
