Yes Smith has done a great job at Leeds in such a short period and seems to know exactly what he is doing so you have to ask if Sutcliffe is such a good player then why is he prepared to release him given he had another year to run on his contract.
Dont think Tony Smith would have signed him if he had been in charge earlier

That's like saying if we release Connor he's nit a good player.

Leeds are up to cap like us, some players have had to leave to bring some in

Total nonsense, you have been saying Griffin was rubbish since he signed, when up until his injury at Saints in the Cup he was an excellent player for Hull. Since that injury he hadn't been the same player.

As for Sutcliffe, are you saying that every single player released early and gone to another club has been a poor signing, look at Litten, how would you feel about signing Longstaff, which would be exactly the same?

Griffin has had one good season in three and that was mostly just making a metres out of backfield.
Never been a prolific try scorer neither a centre who made tries for his winger
His defence has always been poor, limited handling ability and always had a brain fart in him.
Griffin is the same player since his injury but two yards slower in pace. His limitations have been further highlighted by his poor attitude and lazy play.
My point about Sutcliffe is that Smith is quickly turning Leeds around yet sees no future there for Sutcliffe even though he has a year left on his contract and has let him go without a fee.
This is a Hodgson signing and i would trust the judgment of Smith over Hodgson anytime given the poor recruitment we have seen by Hodgson
If we did that with Connor then the club would quite rightly want a fee.
I have said several times even though he is on the light side we should if possible sign Longstaff but Warrington are commanding a fee which adds to my point about Sutcliffe. If you see value then you want a fee.
I am not saying he is poor,i just think if we are looking for a starting centre we should be aiming higher.

no its not
If we release Connor it will be for financial reasons or the player wanting to leave. The club will quite rightly want a fee because he is still under contract
Warrington now want a fee for Longstaff because he is under contract
If Leeds saw any value in Sutcliffe then surely they would also have asked for a fee.
You can understand wanting to release players to reduce the cap like us wanting to get rid of Taylor and Griffin but its usually the big earners and i cant see Sutcliffe or Dwyer been at the top end of Leeds salary scale.

What a load of rubbish. Griffin had pace, strength, and could score tries. He looked awesome with Swift and was unplayable at times. It’s a real shame to see his performances take such a dip. I’ve no doubt he would have been lined up as future captain.
