Considering that the interview was by Dick Tingle I would imagine that vetting would hardly be necessary.

Did you miss the bit about the protracted meeting yesterday to decide on Reardon's fate? Just possibly that didn't finish until, oh, I dunno, 10 minutes before the end of the programme...
