I wasn't daft enough to believe in the Lyon/Gasnier/Jennings silly talk, but I have to say I do find this underwhelming. We really could do with an ace up our sleeves for the remaining signing IMO.

Also, whilst some are saying (read: hoping) it is like the Domic signing, I think it's more like the Michael Eagar one.

The hysteria over this signing is nothing short of ridiculous. Some perspective required I think.
How many world beating centres have SL clubs signed so far? Just how much cap space do you think we've got left given who we've signed?

He's a seasoned professional, who IMO isn't any worse than our current players. What he does have over our current right hand side is experience.
Whether you think Turner/Whiting/Crooks could do the same job or not, it's hardly a statement of our intent for 2012. I think the fact we forked our thousands for Andy Lynch is more indicative our intent tbh.
It's a 1 year deal, the obvious conclusion to draw is it's a stop gap until 2013. I'm sure I've read somewhere , might have been an interview with Bomber, that we have irons in the fire for 2013.

While I'm not exactly doing cartwheels over this signing I'm willing to give the bloke the benefit of the doubt and see how he goes. I'm certainly not 'disgusted', 'horrified' or any other absurd hyperbole.

Interesting that you should say that

Someone i spoke to today came up with the theory that the majority of Crusaders players have been sorted out financially by the RFL and spread amongst all the clubs in the league at little or no cost to the clubs and that its cap exempt too.

Sounds a bit far fetched but not entirely out the question with them having to save face after the debarcle

Totally agree.

I also think it is insulting to Mr Pearson/Barmby who's hard earned cash has finally got rid of all the people who were holding the club back, including JT I was told today :CLAP: :lol:

If there's no one out there who we want surely it's better to get Martin on a cheap one year deal then someone who's just as average but on a 2 year deal . Who's to say the overseas signing who turned us down last week hasn't agreed to come over for 2013 . He's not the best but there's been some very odd and ordinary signings already . Moore at Leeds Thomas at Wigan etc

How anyone can compare this to the Sid Domic signing is beyond me, Domic was a good player who was part of the successful Wakey side of 04, was named in the Dream Team in the same year and 3 years younger when he signed.

Shocking signing. As bad as Taulapapa, and he's helpful.
