I've thought the same, and one possibility I can think of is that it sounds like a possible replacement for Whiting to me. Stand off/loose man who can play centre. Is there room for both if we do sign Turner?

The way he was dropped from the side and Agar's subsequent unwillingness to play him seems to be a worrying indication that maybe he's not part of his plans for next year.

Not a bad idea. We've had hoops for quite a few seasons now. Bring in a new design next year, then back to hoops the following year.
