I'm sure they're trying to sign a half in fairness. You offer players all the money in the world but you can make them come.
What the vision for the club over the next 2 years? Steady rebuilding?
That's a tough sell to an NRL player when the usual contract is 2 years.
"Come for two years and help us climb to the heights of mid-table" doesn't exactly sound enticing does it.

Get this and the next recruitment cycle right and you could challenge, we did this with our 2015/2016 recruitment.

But I get your point, we just aren't attractive anymore and nedd to use money as a motivation, unfortunately this still doesn't always work like it didn't with Lam.

I was hoping the appointment of Cartwright and the repeat he must have would have some pull.

Yeah seen that now. So we was going to pay a fee for Rowley. Going to pay Lam massive money.

I'm no rocket scientist but why not pay the fee we was going to pay Salford to a club for a player who we will put on the wages we was going to give to Lam. Obviously if they fit the bill and not just any one.

Or. Was it all hype with Lam knowing he was going to say no.
That's the feeling I am now getting considering in the article it says about the half back likening it to the Treigh Stewart signing.

Usually try to look at positives. But my word in struggling after recent weeks!

Makes you wonder.

Back in Hull.

I'd still look at Milford, killing in the Queensland cup and would classed as a high profile signing at a decent age.

Exactly. Despite how terrible we have become next season is a new era with a respected coach and new investment supposedly.

We might not be the most attractive proposition at the moment but I'm sure we should be in for better quality than the reserve competitions.

The fact that we signed one and was strongly linked with another PNG player suggests we may have been over optimistic in filling the last two quota places.

Milford would be a slight risk but if we could get him over here fit and firing he'd be unbelievable and the perfect foil for Abdul. He'd be familiar with Cartwright aswell with his stint at Brisbane.

The poor man's bonaire

It can't be that hard to find players in oz willing to come over and who would improve us. There must be literally 100's of them with so many teams and players over there. salford and leigh have done very well bringing over lesser known players.

I had hoped cartwright would have sorted out a couple of gems for us but seemingly not

I absolutely agree that a decent halfback pairing is key and will make or break the team for next year.
The overall quality in SL feels like its at an all time low and if you get the key positions right then breaking into 6th isn't a massive stretch over the next couple of years.

Just making the point that it's not necessarily as easy as waving a bunch of cash in someone's face.

How do you have the faintest clue what Myler has or hasn't done?

I think a sensible move would be a price freeze for anyone renewing passes or even sponsorship as it goes without saying we have not had anywhere near value for money the past couple of seasons and certainly not this season.

Whilst the club may take a slight hit in margins I think increasing prices would following this shambolic season
would certainly hit the club a lot more by tipping more fans over the edge at a time when they need to reward the fans for sticking with them be it as pass holder or corporate sponsor.

Dont think it matters what price the club end up selling passes because if the club dont pull out two or three quality signings they will be lucky to sell 5000
Apathy has hit the fans big time and if Saturdays attendance was a true relection of how many were in the ground it would be about 7000
