In Radfords defence, he does not make the individual errors on the pitch. There are too many players only putting their hands up when thing go well and a few who need to look at themselves in the mirror and ask if they are really putting in a shift. This is a thread about the coach so I’ll not single out players, but there are 6 or 7 who fall into this bracket.
In the case against Radford, we used to be renowned for stern and brutal defending yet it seems paper thin with our own 20.
Our attacking creativity is just about non existent, especially close to the opposition line. This is not a new thing. Different players over the last 6 seasons, same coach.
Our attacking structure is poor. Our offensive line is the flattest of all SL clubs making it way too easy for the opposition to get in our faces and stifle us. Different players over the last 6 seasons, same coach.
Our line speed is very poor!
This season we have scored some great tries, but the reality is, they come from broken play or a miracle piece of skill, not through structure.
We lack leadership on the pitch. After Cas second try, only ten minutes into the game it was heads down from the captain and the senior players. That attitude needs to change, that comes from the coach.
Cas showed last night how all of the above should be executed and it resulted in a comfortable win for them.
2016/17 were good due to the cup wins and pushing Leeds close for a GF spot
2018 , granted, injuries did for us.
2019, there are no excuses anymore.
Thanks Lee, you will be fondly remembered for the cup wins, but to paraphrase many of your post match interviews “you put in loads of effort but can’t quite figure out how to put all the pieces of the jigsaw together”.
Mr Pearson, it’s time to make a big call.
