Michael's this season's scapegoat, correct me if I,m wrong when I,'ve seen Naughton play over the last couple of seasons he,s made errors of his own , positional ,carried into touch ,knock ons, so how can you be certain swooping them would improve the team or the performance, You don,t want hull to lose but could be for the best ::: Whatever I never want us to lose no matter how Crap we are playing
I actually don't think Michaels has done that much wrong, people see tries getting scored down his wing and immediately jump on him. Personally I think most tries can be traced back to the men in the middle. If you are stretched out wide that means someone in the middle of the field hasn't done their job properly. After that it's kind of like a goalkeeper in a penalty shootout. If they save a try then it's a great play, but 9/10 a try is going to be scored. You're pretty much on a hiding to nothing.
However I said as soon as Fonua got injured that I would put Naughton in, and Michaels hasn't done anything to change my mind. I think Naughton offers a bit more of an attacking threat.
As for wanting us to lose. I'd love nothing more than us to go on a good run, and I will still be cheering us on (from afar) against Wakefield. But if it's a choice between sleepwalking our way to another 7/8th place finish, or a bit of short term pain to make AP realise he has to do something, then I know what I would choose.
