Worst thing Hull could have done yesterday was play Shaul. Nobody will take him now going off that performance.

I said at the time it was unlikely a deal would be done due to the issue in regards to relegation and it being a high possibility for Tolouse and as such contracts being terminated on the back of being relegated.

Like most of the team on Saturday, Jamie didn’t have his best game, however some of the comments on here have been quite disrespectful considering the service Jamie has given to the club.

I think with a couple more games under his belt and with 13 players on the pitch, Jamie will be putting in the performances we know he is capable of.

From what position though, as he isn't a current SL full back for me given the skill set that is now needed

Who has been disrespectful, we are paying a big salary for a back up player who is either injured or out of form.

If we carry on keeping and playing players based on something they did for the club years ago, we will never compete.

Look at Saints, releasing Coote at the right time, they could have easily given him a new deal, buy saw him coming to the end of his career and moved him on.

We managed to get rid of a couple underperformed high paid players in the off season, we need to continue to do this rather than keep handing out contracts.

Exactly - the same people who moan about Salary Cap mismanagement, are the ones who say "I feel sorry for Shaul, he has served us well" - he has, I agree. But his form in the 2 years prior to his injury was poor, his skill set doesn't suit the 2022 full back in Super League, and he is probably on the best part of 100k a year. Him and Bowden going (to Cas??) would save us about 180k a year, and allow us to either get 1 quality acquisition, or 3 good players to pad out the squad in positions we need

Some other players need big season too to earn a new contract Houghton, Taylor, Reynolds and Ma'u.
